Aroma - floral notes are really popping through here. Some slight vanilla and cherries, mint, slight pine… very nice for $30 bottle (got it on sale)… hope the taste follows suit.
Taste - my hopes were high coming off the nose…. It doesn’t live up to the nose unfortunately … but I’m being a little critical here…
Rye, mint, hints of cinnamon and baking spices and brown sugar on the finish. There’s a sweet vanilla frosting note in there as well that brings a bit more complexity…. It’s a tad thin even for 92 proof. It’s crushable and doesn’t stick to the palate.
Overall- solid rye at its price point of $30-35 … would not pay anymore than that… this would be a an amazing mixer for an Old Fashion or Manhattan. Tons of aroma and above average complexity at the $30-$35 range. This is one that I will keep on hand for those “friend/family” events
