Reviewed November 9, 2022 (edited December 7, 2023)The first two sips will absolutely knock your socks off… the proof commands your attention! Sip 3-5 (and so on) the whiskey becomes dangerously rich and silky! The front of the palate is brown sugar burnt french toast. Mid-palate presents smashed bananas, viscous vanilla, and hints of campfire wood! The finish is super full featuring combinations of all the flavors above but also hugs you with a deep barrel/barn wood presence! The finish is LONG a beautiful! For me it isn’t astringent nor is it overly ethanol based! -

Reviewed July 23, 2022 (edited December 7, 2023)Since my first review of this bottle, I ended up purchasing several more since it was so good and the price was on point! This review is for a 375mL bottle hand selected by Master Distiller Chris Fletcher (JD Master Distiller) which was found at my local BevMo and bottled at 64.40% ABV. Nose is good with lots of oak, caramel, cinnamon apple. Gotta be careful not to nose too closely since the ethanol will getcha. Palate is real smooth with the typical bananas foster and maple pancakes. Suprisingly not so much burn up front, but you can feel it as you swallow with the heat going down esophagus and into your stomach. Finish is nice and long. Very smooth. This has definitely grown to be one of my favorite bottles to keep in the bar, and I currently have 4 unique barrels. If you love high-proof whiskey, this is one I'd highly recommend, since it is relatively easy to find and the price is very reasonable on it.30.0 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed July 21, 2022 (edited December 14, 2022)Every time it is one of the best pours I have. It has a nice flavor, smooth, but packs a punch. If I could take only 5 bottles this is in the batch. -

Reviewed June 25, 2022 (edited December 7, 2023)Nose- heavy ethanol, salted caramel, raisins and plums, oak Taste- green apples, rich caramel, more dark fruits, baking spices Finish- long finish that lingers, oily mouthfeel, feels like you can chew it A solid barrel proof offering but a bit harsh to be considered great. I’ll be in the lookout for a store pick to see if there’s any difference. Also didn’t pick up any banana that folks often mention.64.99 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed June 20, 2022 (edited December 7, 2023)Been on the lookout for this one for awhile and finally was able to nab a bottle of this at 132.4 proof (66.2% ABV). Was never typically a fan of Jack but boy is this one good! First pour was HOT as expected by the proof but coming back to this a few days later it seemed to settle down a bit. Nose is heavy on the caramel and maple. The high proof gives your nose a slight tingle. Palette is similar to the nose with some cinnamon spice as well. Finish is decently long and slightly dries out the tongue. Overall a very good bottle and happy to keep one (or even two) on the shelf. Availability could be better though as it seems to be a bit hard to get.63.0 USD per Bottle
