Jack Daniel's Triple Mash

Tasted neat. Bronze in the glass with no coating legs. Caramel, banana, and brown sugar nose. In the mouth, caramelized sugar, oatmeal, cherry, and charred oak, with some tanic leather. Soft, grassy, honey sweet. An oily feel surprised me given the thin legs. Finish is where the 60% rye shows up, dry, astringent, and light baking spices, but still sweet, and then it fades rather quickly. Very easy to drink, nothing challenging or unusual. Ice makes it even softer. I'm guessing at 100 proof bonded it will mix easily, but a pricy mix unless you're talking an Old Fashioned. Given the high rye content, this should be good in a Manhattan or an amaro/bourbon variant. Will let you know.

CN. Nose is still somewhat bland but I do pick up some hints of black cherry. Either the nose is toast or I'm getting a cross between Dr. Pepper and Cherry Coke on the nose and first swigs. Taste and finish for me are both heavy on the black cherry, almost like the cherries from ice cream. The first couple tastes the finish was very malty, but about halfway through that transitioned to the pleasing black cherry. The finish on this doesn't last very long either but is pleasing as you work down the glass. Can definitely pick up some of the rye spice on the back end which is very pleasing. This bites a bit harder than I think it should for 100 proof. Cheers!

It’s immediately identifiable as a JD product. Banana pudding, vanilla wafers, the charcoal mellowing…all there. But its also chocolatey with the rye notes coming through. Blows #7 outta the water of course!

Nose: cherries, spices smells kind of like winter if that makes sense Taste: definitely has a unique taste to it i would say taste like nutmeg or winter baking spices cinnamon. The finish is short but pleasant. With spices and cherry on the finish. Overall this is very different than other offerings from JD. I have really been a huge fan of all of their single barrel picks most of everything they are doing lately to be honest. For $40 this is a great bottle to keep in your shelf thats different from anything else.
