A nice deep prune/fig note, then some caramels, dark chocolate, oakiness, char, mild wood smoke, dark cherry, dashes of brown sugar before some mild herbal notes, mild black pepper and standard rye spice kick in. The finish is effortless, long with a mildy dry, prune and spice notes. jack daniels continues to blow me away with their recent releases. Im not sure if ive simply been sleeping on them or if they really have been putting out quality product. JD ryes in particular have really grabbed my attention the most. it feels like an easier version of the single barrel barrel proof, which even at this point is killer. well done.
