Reviewed September 29, 2023Woodsy, sweet, vanilla aroma that translates to the initial palate. A bit hot on front of the palate as well. Good mouth feel but the flavors dissipate rather quickly and you're left with a slightly tannic and thin finish. How did this get whiskey of the year on the Ascot awards? As with other whiskies, the flavours last longer when paired with food. -

Reviewed September 27, 2023 (edited January 28, 2024)A rare wheater. Amazing nose of pure butterscotch. Pallate is a little cherry, sweetnees, strong wheat and easiest drinking 117 proof. -

Reviewed August 18, 2023 (edited January 28, 2024)Creamy, chocolate, slightly spicy and tannic, and when you add a few drops of water to tame the 57.5 proof, it goes down so smooth like an iced oatmeal cookie. I can mostly understand why it won Ascot's whiskey of the year with its complexity and uniqueness.67.0 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed August 15, 2023 (edited January 28, 2024)Heavy Butterscotch thick and creamy, kind of reminds me of a Texas whiskey, its not very complex but the flavors that are there are bold and you dont have to hunt for them with butterscotch being the most predominant being backed up with a Sweet wheat bread, honey, and some barrel flavor and spice . Would definitely recommend but this is not a traditional tasting Kentucky Bourbon so if thats not your thing maybe this isn’t for you . And yes I know Journeyman is from Michigan.
