Incredibly robust, dashes of brown sugar are so briefly tasted before it reveals notes of pecan wood, leather, wood char, mild caramel, barbaque smoke, and roasted pecan or almond. the finish reveals some brown sugar along with a long and dry pepper finish. the more i sip the more i understand. Its pretty hot but packs a wallop for someone who likes more earthy tones.
129.2 proof single barrel store pick - hot. Dark cherry nose; cherry-oak palate with hints of traditional caramel-vanilla, but almost overtaken by heat and rye spice; hints of syrup cough medicine; fruit undertones. Definately an Old Forester mash, just hotter.
