Smoke, rubber and brine on nose. Aroma is a classic Islay style, yet more iodine/medicinal presence and slight vanilla.
Chewy, viscous whisky. Tonnes of rubbery-peat, then turns burnt and meaty BBQ savouriness. Plenty of bitter char through the palate and finish.
Finishes with vanilla bean extract at first. After some sampling, goes to charry-bitterness - BBQ bits. Very nice.
Finish (and overall whisky) is never very sweet - nice and bitter/charred. Changes very quickly after some sampling.
