Although the SPRINGBANK is a peated whisky, it doesn't have so much at the smell. The vanilla and oak wood barrel cover the other odours.
Quite strong in alcohol it is also lightly spicy, pepper tastes. The dram has a very round full tongue which reminds oil and sea salt.
Adding a drop of water makes sea smell and taste more powerful.
Later taste let some hidden agrumes tastes come over with the oil.
The nose is deep with fruit sweetness, pepper, and a distinctly non-islay peat. The taste jumps into flavor the nose doesn't indicate as spicy clove and cinnamon hit. The peat is still present, but still secondary to the flavor
