The nose starts off a little sharp, full of straw and barley sugar, charred oak and some slightly creamy undertones. It quickly mellows out, revealing ripe fruit and green apple. Very classic Speyside.
The palate is very smooth, sending a wave of straw and charred oak across the tongue, along with slight hints of black pepper. It remains quite subtle, without much of the fruit notes coming across.
The finish is medium short, with everything fading rather quickly. While it isn't bad, it just isn't memorable.
