WhistlePig 15 Year Estate Oak Rye

A bold, Rye Whiskey by master distiller Dave Pickerell for WhistlePig Distillery in Vermont aged for a minimum of 15 years in Native estate-grown Vermont Oak barrels, given a long toast and heavy char. It has an aromatic birth with notes of peppery rye, buttery biscuits, brûléed oranges & toasted nuts; while a spicy life adds notes of toffee, butterscotch, dark chocolate & intense oak & warm leather; that led to a long & warm death with notes of exotic spice & caramel. First pour Nose: Seet mint, rye baking spice, brown sugar Taste Oak, rye, honeycomb, dry Finish Oak and rye

Floral, apricot, fruity nose; rye spice with fruity notes; apple pie bursts out; very smooth, light cream with oak notes; some coffee, tangerine-orange; each sip brings new experience of complex flavor profile; a little sour rye spice after finish; not dull at all, very interesting experience that one can chew on for some time to experience depth of flavor profiles.
