Had a pour of this at dinner with my son. Nothing stands out, but a decent sipper. I’ve had this before, Yosemite trip I believe, and remember it being somewhat better. Could have been the view though!
NOSE
Oak, caramel, dried orchard fruit, baking spice, nuts, vanilla taffy and a bit of orange peel and light grassy notes.
Nice. Easy, simple, decent regular bourbon.
PALATE
Oak, caramel, dried orchard fruit, baking spice, nuts, vanilla taffy and a bit of orange peel and biscuity notes.
Has a bit of bisciuty note, but basically the same as the aroma and just as nice in a basic way.
FINISH
Medium -> Oak, nuts, fruit and dark sweets.
Nose up front is a sour apple pie with a charred wood in the mouth. Tongue hits with a bitter and sour wood mix. A little water opens up an easier flavor, but same sour apple flavor. Aftertaste is slightly sweeter and vaguely cinnamon. Starts rough but ends nicely. Water is key to open this up. Average bourbon but probably great as a mint julep.
