A complex sweet herbal apéritif or cordial from France, an old-fashioned white absinthe based on a French recipe from the 1800s, produced in conjunction with the French Absinthe Museum. The lack of color harks back to the days of bootlegging when green spirit could be spotted a mile off. It has an aromatic birth with notes of herbs, peppermint, cardamom & cinnamon; while an herbal life adds notes of fresh flowers, star anise, fennel seed & parsley that led to a long & spicy death. An elegant, Aged Gin by Destilería Colombiana in Cartegeña, Colombia. It is sugarcane-based though the botanical mix is a secret, but juniper, citrus zest, florals & their signature ingredient: Limon Mandarino; distilled 5 times; before being aged for 35 months in ex-Rum casks. It has an aromatic birth with notes of sawdust, flamed orange peel, tangerine, citrus zest, lemon, mandarin, pine, mint, berry & oak; while a zesty life adds notes of citrus, redcurrant, pink peppercorn, herbs & smoked toffee; that leads to a spicy death of medium length with notes of savory, salted caramel & agave syrup. It is crafted with local Seville bitter oranges, macerated in wine & eua-di-vie, combined with Mendocino Chardonnay & select botanicals, aged in French oak barrels. It has an aromatic birth with notes of citrus, flowers, herbs & spices; while a full life adds notes of blood orange, peach & orange blossoms; that led to a bittersweet death with notes of marmalade & honeycomb.
