Nose: Strong notes of sugar, corn, and ethanol. Really sweet and has a good bit of burn on it. Almost smells too sweet, before I've even tasted it Taste Candy corn.... I'm drinking this on halloween, so that might be influencing my taste, but for real it tastes like candy corn, with a little bit of a minty note to it. It's really warm, but pretty refreshing feeling. Which is surprising to me since it's so sweet. Followthrough The followthrough is really spice-y and minty actually, sticks around and spreads throughout the mouth pretty well. It's really present but it's nothing too much, and the followthrough isn't overly sweet, like the taste. Overall Upon first taste, I was a little interested and liked it. But as I keep drinking it, the more I'm changing my mind. I don't think I like this all that much. It's just alot. The sweetness is too much for me, and it's kind of a fruity sweetness. Just not my thing. It's a good idea and they definitely nailed the corn flavor profile, it's just... Alot

Grangestone Highland Single Malt Rum Cask Finish
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 15, 2020Nothing special about this. Admittedly, I'm not a fan of scotch, but still, I'm not a fan of this. Nose is just nauseating fruity and a little smoke Taste is the same, but a little sweeter. The smoke isn't interesting, it's just boring. Followthrough- there is none. Yeah... Really don't like it. I didn't taste any of the influence of the rum cask finish. Like I said, I already don't like scotch or single malt whiskey a ton. And trying this just made me one step closer to not trying to enjoy scotch anymore. -
Nose - Fruity Rye, with a little bit of vanilla. No ethanol on the nose Taste- A lot of spices, it's a very big bomb of subtle spices, none of the spice notes are overbearing, they let you taste the bourbon-y notes. Follow through- I really am a fan of the followthrough on this. The spices stay and turn into an oily feel and really coat the tongue and roof of your mouth really well. Stays around for a while. I think my favorite thing about this whiskey is it's mouthfeel. I don't know why, but this tastes like Four Roses Single Barrel, but a rye version of it. Really impressed with this rye for the price! Will definitely be buying a full bottle next time I get the chance. It's smooth, any alcohol burn is nice feeling and not bitter or off putting. I had it neat and that was great, so easy to drink. I had it in an old fashioned Overall, one of my favorite ryes I have tasted so far. It truly is a smooth whiskey, not to use a buzzword, but it really is balanced and there's no rough edges. I'm sure my rating will go up next time I drink it, but I'm really liking this

I don’t get why people like Evan Williams as one of their favorite budget bourbons. I get that the white label is better, but this is bad, and I won’t be buying it again. Nose is just thin alcohol shooting up your nose, too quick to really get any notes. Taste is tart and boozy. It tastes like a future headache. While there are some typical whiskey notes in this, they are very muted and not that distinct or enjoyable. Way too thin feeling for me. Follow through is way too quick, it’s a quick shot of alcohol burn and a little bit of caramel/bourbon notes. It’s just bad, and I’m even giving it a little bit of a pass because of the price. But that’s not an excuse because there are great bourbons out there in that same price range. I would much prefer to buy Mellow Corn or Old Grand Dad, or Jim Beam. I made the mistake of buying a full bottle of this a couple years ago before I had started drinking whiskey, and it was a struggle to finish that bottle, and I just made the mistake of buying a sample bottle again, curious to see if my opinion had changed now that I had gotten more accustomed to whiskey. Turns out it still sucks this time around. The only thing that makes this redeemable to me, is to drown it with coke

Jack Daniel's Tennessee Straight Rye
Rye — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed August 9, 2020 (edited September 12, 2020)Nose- an unlikely mix of banana, mint, and rye spice. It smells like it is going to be a pretty thin whiskey, similar to regular jack Daniels. Taste- definitely has notes of jack Daniels no 57. I can taste the familiar banana note for sure. But what is more prominent in it is rye spice, mint, and for sure a sweet note I can’t really pick out. It’s one of the sweeter high-rye whiskeys I’ve had for sure. It is definitely pretty thin though. Follow through- there’s not a ton of follow through on this, but after drinking a few sips it does coat the younger fairly well. It’s one of those whiskeys where it kind of burns going down. Overall, I don’t love it, but I would drink it if it was the only thing there. I don’t think it’s a great offering as a rye. The only redeeming quality about it is the strange combination of mint, rye spice, and banana. Probably wouldn’t buy a whole bottle of this, but it was nice to try -
For the price of this, it's really great. It still tastes like a classic bourbon, bu doesn't have any unsettling notes. On the nose I get caramel and vanilla. Not much alcohol burn. The taste is interesting and unique for it being a cheaper bourbon. I get vanilla, caramel, and fruitiness. The fruitiness comes across as a little more of an apple type of note. Kind of tastes like a caramel apple! The proof is low, but still there, which is nice because there's no burn in it. I usually don't like bourbon with overly fruity notes, but the notes in this make aren't too much. It feels like a complete bourbon with the followthrough. It's a light and smooth bourbon and an easy drinker. I mixed this with sweet tea and lemon and it was fantastic. This definitely makes me want to try out their other bourbons I bet I would love those. Overall, really surprised at this, love it.19.99 USD per Bottle

I am a fan of Devils river bourbon and rye, so when I saw this in a store, I was excited to try it! Hadn’t seen it anywhere and was confused how it doesn’t have a listing on Distiller yet. Anyway, I really quite like this for what it is! What I’ve found with coffee whiskey or flavored whiskey in general is that it is hard to sip it neat, it just can be a little much in my opinion. But this is probably one of the best flavored whiskeys I’ve had. I prefer this coffee bourbon over the Jameson cold brew Irish whiskey. This coffee bourbon has a sweet coffee smell in the nose and when you drink it, you really can taste the distinction between the bourbon notes and the coffee notes. A little bit of iced coffee with sweetener in it, mixed with just a little bit of alcohol proof and the bourbon vanilla and cherry flavor profile. The follow through on this is nice. I don’t get any alcohol burn at all, and the typical bourbon notes actually go away quicker than the coffee notes. I like how I’m left with an iced coffee follow through as opposed to a bourbon. In my opinion this is better enjoyed when you add it to a little bit of iced coffee. Just added it to Starbucks cold brew and it made it significantly better (not just because it makes it an alcoholic drink, but because the flavor profile from the bourbon notes makes the cold brew taste more unique) Really enjoy this one actually, not sure why there’s not more of it out there.

Really don’t like this. The nose is super thin and has the type of alcohol burn that shoots up your nose immediately no matter how close to it your nose is. The taste is suuuuppper thin. Really don’t get many flavors, other than it tastes like a bourbon. If anything, I get a weird sawdust-type note in it. Don’t know if that makes sense, but it tastes like how I imagine sawdust shavings from a woodworking shop would taste like. For real though, I just added it to Dr. Pepper, and I feel like I just ruined my Dr Pepper. Not even a good mixer. I don’t know the price of a full bottle, but I would say it probably deserves the price range of $10 a bottle. It’s just so thin, but got some weird bitter woody tastes to it. It tastes like it was hardly aged at all.

I still am not a huge fan of scotch at all, as opposed to Bourbon and Rye. Something about the mixture of smokey and often fruity flavors always makes me disinterested. That being said, I do enjoy this whiskey to an extent. I'm able to appreciate it for what it is, and it seems like it's a really well made whiskey. It's tastefully smokey, and the fruitiness isn't too much . The nose is mostly peat/smoke. Taste is fruity with smoke. Similar to Chivas Regal in my opinion. The follow through is really quick, and there's not much alcohol burn at all. I get a little bit of a honey note too on the taste/mouthfeel. Overall, I like it and if there was going to be a scotch that I actually liked at this point in my whiskey journey, Highland Park's flavor profile matches up pretty well. It tastes pretty complex, and there's no weird boozy fruit note that I get in other scotches. It's all pretty mellow and goes down smooth. Currently enjoying it over ice and it definitely is improved to me on the rocks.45.0 USD per Bottle

No issues with this whiskey for what it is. I ha e yet to find an Irish Whiskey that I absolutely love to drink neat, but this one was one of my favorite Irishs so far. It's really smooth and sweet. No bitter alcohol taste to me. I tried it neat and it was kind of boring, but I just mixed this with Guinness and some coconut cream and ice, and it was amazing. I would buy a bottle of this to have for mixing.
