Tastes like a pretty typical scotch. Nothing super unique jumps out at me at first. The nose is pretty nice, mostly fruit, maybe a little bit of a honey smell, with the slightest bit of smoke. The taste is pretty identical to the nose. Definitely get a little bit of smoke in it. It's a pretty easy drinker, nothing that's too unfriendly. Not too much of a scotch fan, but this is pretty good.32.0 USD per Bottle

Devils River Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 28, 2020 (edited September 12, 2020)I love this! The nose is exceptional. I didn't expect it to be so sweet and caramel-y with it being a Texas whiskey. Very smooth nose. I was initially a little let down by the taste because it felt like it didn't hold up to the nose. The palate is pretty strong, with some sweet notes. When you add a drop or two of water, the taste is a lot better in my opinion, I can imagine that this is really good on the rocks. It's not smooth, but it doesn't need to be, it gives you a very warm feeling and it coats the tongue nicely. I can imagine that I will like the rye even more than the bourbon. I almost feel like it kind of tastes more like a rye than a quintessential bourbon taste, and I'm totally fine with that. I bet it's a great old fashioned. Definitely want to buy a bottle of their rye.35.0 USD per Bottle -
Not a huge fan of this, despite the fact that I enjoy Jim beam white label. I am also a fan of really ‘oaky’ bourbon, such as Woodford Double Oaked. But the Double Oaked method doesn’t really work in this product, it just comes off as bitter. The nose, to me is mostly just ethanol, mixed with normal Jim beam. The palate is regular Jim beam, vanilla bourbon, but with that bitter note in it. I would rather have a bottle of regular Jim beam. It’s a good idea, but the Double Oak doesn’t deliver.

I like this less the second time that I taste it neat. I do love the nose though... I get a full and buttery, rich oak, a little bit of apple, and a little bit of vanilla. But the taste doesn’t follow through on being interesting. It’s pretty thin to me. The proof feels stronger than what it actually is. I think I’ll drink this on the rocks or in old fashioneds from here on out. Drinking it neat makes me question if I actually Ike bourbon, because everyone talks about how Buffalo Trace is sort of a Quintessential Bourbon taste. Not terrible, but just isn’t what I like. I would prefer Bulliet Bourbon to this.

Woodinville Straight 100% Rye (90 Proof)
Rye — Washington, USA
Reviewed June 27, 2020 (edited June 28, 2020)I very much like this rye! I was interested to see if 100% rye would be my thing and it definitely is. I think this is great and am excited to have it more to see how my tastes change. Seems like a great company, and a great product. Definitely get spice notes and pepper notes. Pretty sweet though for it being 100% rye. Excited to try this in old fashioned and cocktails to see how it holds up. But poured neat, I definitely like it alot. Great purchase37.0 USD per Bottle -
This was my first experience with Japanese whiskey, so this review might not be too fair, since I don't know much. I like it, it's lighter feeling than bourbon or scotch. Nose is a little strong alcohol feel. The taste has a little bit of a floral taste to it, to me it tastes like there is slight hints of gin in it. I want to try this again, and see if I get more out of it the next time. I definitely will be using this in cocktails, feels like it would be great in that.33.0 USD per Bottle

Love it! This confirmed for me that I am in fact, a Rye-Guy. For it being such a high-rye rye, it definitely doesn't have any overpowering spice notes. I really like the nose on this one and the palate doesn't disappoint, feels full and a little oily. Notes on the mouth are the typical rye notes, but they feel really balanced. Proof isn't too much, but it's definitely enough

This is probably the first scotch that I have liked so far. There is hardly any burn on either the nose or the taste. On the nose, I definitely smell cherry and other fruits. The taste is pretty similar, with the slightest bit of smokiness. It can be pretty sweet to drink a couple ounces at a time, but I definitely really like it, and it has opened me up to trying new scotches.60.0 USD per Bottle

Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey
Other Liqueurs — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 21, 2020 (edited October 29, 2020)This is a very weird whiskey. Hard to call it a whiskey, and not a whiskey liqueur. The nose is a weird musty smelling honey, and to me the taste is the same but with a little banana taste. It hardly feels like whiskey, and the honey dulls the burn, which I’m surprised that I wish was there. I’m trying to think of how I could use this in cocktails, but I can’t really think of any way to mix it and still enjoy it. Yeah... I really don’t think I like this at all. It’s so sweet it would make me sick to drink more than an Ounce.
