Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey
Blended — Ireland
Reviewed September 2, 2019 (edited December 4, 2019)Odor: Light, like the color. Extremely volatile, alcohol content is very evident. Spicy, not very sweet. Tickles the nose. Taste: The spice is immediately evident - proof of it's purported rum cask finish. Alcohol is not overpowering. The whisky travels the tongue well. The spice at the front gives way to brown sugar and butterscotch at the back. Perhaps a citrus component? Difficult to tell. Finish: The spicy odor predominates well after the sip. The mouth numbs. Butterscotch and molasses fill the mouth and linger, pleasantly. -
Odor: Light and sharp, going to sweet. Citrus-y, perhaps lemon. Otherwise, no distinct notes, including peat. Taste: As it hits the front of the tongue, it's sharp - not from spice, but from alcohol. At the sides of the tongue, it turns thick, smooth, and buttery. No distinctive flavor - overall a very mellow Scotch. Finish: Some dark notes, but difficult to isolate. Numbs the top of the mouth slightly. Cinnamon? Tough to tell. Definitely a plain Scotch, although in its defense, very mellow and homogeneous.40.0 USD per Bottle

Dry Hills Bin 7 Wheat Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — Montana, USA
Reviewed August 9, 2019 (edited August 12, 2019)Odor: Sweet, but not sickeningly. Smells rougher than it is. Strong alcohol odor. Taste: Dusty, oily emulsion. Starts off sweet and smooth with vanilla and toffee, turning into a burn in the back of the mouth. Not peppery. Finish: Dustiness lingers, heavy barley flavor fades into rye. Puckers the back of the tongue, but buttery on the front.38.0 USD per Bottle -
Odor: Dark, deep, and earthy. Some wine and oak mixed in. Individual odors are difficult to ascertain, but the mix lingers a while. Taste: Starts off sweet on the sides of the tongue, mellow in the middle. The earthiness continues - not what I was expecting, but pleasant nonetheless. Very little spice overall. Musty earthy flavor predominates. Finish: Leaves the distinct flavor of basement air. Numbs the roof of my mouth, but not too bad. Cereal taste sticks around for a while. Wine flavors toward the back of the throat.

Odor: Lots of spices and herbs. Almost like musty vegetation/earth. A tiny bit of sharpness, not too sweet. Taste: Not much to it if swallowed quickly. Some spiciness at the end. Allowing it to linger at the front of the taste buds gives a minty spice, and the back, an overwhelming dill/earthy taste. Finish: Puckery and tart with some minty spice lingering.

Westland Sherry Wood American Single Malt
American Single Malt — Washington , USA
Reviewed April 15, 2019 (edited March 22, 2020)Odor: Sweet, sherry and fruit aroma, not overpowering. Taste: Starts off smooth, moving to a sweet fruity flavor. Blends well with the whiskey which burns the lips, but not the tongue. Finish: Spice that starts off weak and grows stronger with a slight oak aftertaste.10.0 USD per Pour -
Odor: Unbearable sweetness that fails to blend with the burn of the whisky. Both flavors together are overwhelming and ruin the experience from the beginning. Taste: Completely at odds with each other, the honey and whisky battle for attention. Neither deserves it. The honey is just sweet, the whisky is just strong. Finish: All the more subtle flavors are dominated, expect two bad tastes and possibly some coughing.35.0 USD per BottleBig Gary's Discount Liquors
