Bomberger's Declaration (2021 Release)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 20, 2021 (edited May 21, 2022)Awesome. Cherry and caramel is nearly electric through your sip. Strong flash of flavor. It’s a drink that is immediately interesting. Very impressive. -
High West A Midwinter Night's Dram Act 9 (All Scenes)
Rye — (bottled in) Utah, USA
Reviewed October 18, 2021 (edited November 12, 2021)This really is like a Christmas ale incarnate into a whiskey. Some light spices and a campfire presence. It really is just Christmas. -
High West Bourye (2018 Release)
Blended American Whiskey — Indiana (bottled in Utah), USA
Reviewed October 17, 2021Great taste, but very mild - much more mild than the distiller review would lead you to believe. A hint of rye influence, but not anything more than a high-rye bourbon like four roses. Very mellow; I would not eat anything with this bourbon because it will likely get lost. -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2021-03 "Bardstown Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed October 8, 2021 (edited December 11, 2021)This is a great batch. Much less peanut than you expect from Bookers. Fruity, rich, yet mellow. Very pleasant. -
Watershed Barrel Strength Bourbon Finished in Apple Brandy Barrels (Batch 002)
Bourbon — Ohio, USA
Reviewed September 25, 2021 (edited December 17, 2021)Off the neck, it’s thick, present, and woody. Tastes like the smell of an apple orchard in fall, which is probably the most obscure statement I’ve ever made. It’s good. $90 good? Not sure. But I don’t regret trying it. -
Knob Creek 15 Year Bourbon (2020 Release)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 24, 2021 (edited December 4, 2021)Sweet, brown sugar and molasses. I almost get like a sweet teriyaki flavor that’s weird to describe. I know that doesn’t sound appetizing in a bourbon, but it’s super good. -
Old Forester Single Barrel Bourbon Barrel Strength
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 17, 2021Astor store pick, rickhouse i floor 1. Hit is hard, but finish is so good. Heavy spice into a subtle creaminess. It’s long and complex. It’s worth a pickup for sure, especially if you see it around the $80 price point. -
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Straight Rye
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 17, 2021 (edited March 2, 2022)A lot of presence. Feels like a corn-forward rye, but without the “creaminess.” It’s smooth and straight-forward. Probably my least favorite EHT product.
