Smell is deep, rich, and must with a lot of spice around the edges - cinnamon, pepper, maybe some citrus, and some floral / Earthy notes. There is almost a stone fruit note mixed in there too. Flavor is not what I expected - a very mute unoffending start with some caramel body standing out, with a vegetal white pepper spice that then starts to kick in. Finish is somewhat flat with that spice lingering as more of an oak flavor with some sweetness. Almost feels like drinking a flat soda in a way. Not bad though - is pretty interesting. T8ke 6.7

T8ke 6.2 Huge white grape sweetness on the nose - with sherry, apricot, dried fruit notes. Definitely some mineral-like notes with it. Flavor is actually very interesting. All of that sweetness comes through on the palette up front with a raisin sweetness standing out, and then there is a white pepper spice that comes in hot and hangs - rounding out in almost a minty experience on the finish. Not my favorite flavor profile, but interesting and enjoyable. Definitely worth the try. I bought a bottle flying through Iceland in the airport, and I’m glad I did.2.0 USD per Bottle

Four Roses Single Barrel Select Binny's OESO
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 22, 2024 (edited July 22, 2024)Bull and Bush single barrel pick, 2023 - Denver, CO T8ke: 8.3 Nose has a creamy caramel / brown sugar with a dark fruit sweetness. A bit of a charred oak note too. Some light grassy note as well, but not off putting at all Big round sweetness opens up on the flavor - brown sugar, caramel with a cinnamon spice. A deep dark black raspberry, grape, plum, strawberry (super jammy) around it. Great medium-long finish that leaves everything hanging. Really good overall. Inviting, complex, and satisfying through and through -
Laws Henry Road Straight Malt Whiskey
American Single Malt — Colorado, USA
Reviewed May 21, 2024 (edited May 24, 2024)T8ke: 4.4 Nose is very bright bitter-sweet with a young pear / peach / green apple tang and a honey-suckle sweetness with maybe a little brown sugar. Taste is sickle sweet up front with a pretty bold unroasted coffee bean flavor around the edges, some baking spice / toffee on going into a relatively short finish. Its pretty obvious how young this whiskey is, but that being said its actually well done - no young harsh oak flavor like most...especially from CO. No Kentucky hug though, and its a strange flavor profile that I just do not see myself reaching for. -
Wild Turkey Forgiven
Blended American Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 30, 2024 (edited May 1, 2024)Nose is a light butterscotch carmel. Flavor follows suit - light body with that same sweetness and a cinnamon / baking spice bite of front. The up front caramel sweetness turns more into a rye flavor near the end, with a white pepper / black tea tang going into the finish -
Little Book Chapter 6: To the Finish
Blended American Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 26, 2024 (edited July 22, 2024)Definitely get a leather / smoked meat tang, but with a nice rich carmel backbone. First thought was an oak youth note, but it must have been the smoked barrel flavor coming through because it didnt throw me off - blended well with the rest of the palette. It’s almost a cederwood tang -
