Nose- sweet caramel, raisins, green apples, vanilla, lemons, brown sugar Palate- vanilla cream, peanuts, lemon, brown sugar, honey, floral (lavender/wild flowers) Finish- Medium, creamy finish with lovely notes peanuts, citrus, and toasted oak This is fantastic. I’m convinced that there is no bad Old Fitz. Nice and complex nose, with the highlights being the sweet citrus and heavy brown sugar. The palate opens up with a sweet vanilla cream that leads to peanut butter and lemon citrus. The finish brings forth a creamy viscosity that seems to last a good while, but could be longer. The 13 and 15 are better, but the 9 is still amazing and something I would drink any day of the week

Wow. Salted caramel although out, with delicious notes of peanuts and caramel. This is my new daily drinker, and blows out many bourbons double and triple the price. -

Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2018
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 26, 2020 (edited November 12, 2020)Nose-Raspberries, cherry cobbler, blackberries, caramel, charred oak, lemon Palate- Berries, sweet cherries tossed in sugar, salted caramel, vanilla, oak, brown sugar, spice, lemon Finish- long and creamy mouthfeel with notes of spice and mouthwatering cherry cobbler Absolutely lovely. Incredibly complex, delicious flavors and one of the greatest noses on a bourbon i’ve ever had. Every time I drink it I find new flavors and complexity. Cherry cobbler best describes the nose and palate on this one. Absolutely worth it for MSRP. One of the rarer whiskies that may even be worth secondary as well. -
Nose-buttered biscuits with honey, apricots, banana, raspberries, vanilla and spice Palate- honey, canned pears, cinnamon covered apples, hint of oak and maybe even some dark roasted coffee Finish- Long, creamy finish with notes of spice Absolutely delicious and very complex. Here I thought Redbreast couldn’t get any better... and then comes along the Cask Strength. Great balance of sweet and savory. Nose is fantastic- like a bouquet of fruits. Palate is complex and tasty, with a finish that lingers for a good while. Could drink this one all day

Nose- cherry, canned peaches ,banana, musty oak, almond, buttery, vanilla, cinnamon Palate- brown sugar, oak, wood, almond, vanilla, cherry, caramel Finish- medium, dry finish with notes of heavy oak and cherries All in all great bourbon. A little over oaked at some points, but nice balance and everything you could ask for in a 12 year wheater. Nice amount of fruits, sweetness, and a unique note of almond. For MSRP its OUTSTANDING.

Nose- raisins, honey, peaches, ethanol, wood, vanilla, oak Palate- wood, oak, dark fruits, honey, canned peaches, orange zest, pepper and rye spices on the finish Finish- long, balanced finish with notes of bright citrus and toasted oak Not that much of a step up from regular blanton’s, if a step up at all. Nice bright citrus notes, but a little too much oak for me at times... with a surprising amount of heat. Bottle design is amazing, of course. I would rather have 3 bottles of regular blanton’s than one gold

Cellar door Barrel #1 Nose-caramel, vanilla, orange cream, cherry, honey, spice Palate- caramel, oak, orange zest, musty, cherry cobbler, vanilla Finish- Medium, drying finish of cherries and traditional bourbon notes (vanilla, caramel, oak) Surprisingly a very good bourbon for the age. Exceptionally smooth with a medium finish and oily mouthfeel. Nothing stands out, but is very balanced and a great traditional bourbon. If this is what New Riff can do with a 5 year bourbon, i’m looking forward to what they have in store for the future.

Royal Lochnagar 12 Year (Game of Thrones-House Baratheon)
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 26, 2020Nose- green apple jolly ranchers, oak, lemon zest, oranges Palate- oak, pineapple, lemon, smoky undertones Finish- Short, fruity finish with just a hint of smoke This is unique, there’s not denying that. But with that being said, it’s very one dimensional. All I get on the nose, palate and finish are tropical fruits and oak. Usually I love this combo accompanied by other smells and flavors, but when it’s just the two, it doesn’t quite work for me. Still an alright drinker, but very simple and forgettable. -
Nose- herbal (rosemary, rose water, wild flowers) pear, honey, ginger, musty oak Palate- honey, herbal notes of rosemary and wild flowers, white chocolate, orange peel, malt, light oak Finish- Medium, oily finish with bright ginger and chocolate Very good. Does not disappoint, great for the price. Finish could be longer and could have a bit more complexity to it, but the more I sip the more flavors open up. By no means is it bold and in your face, more light and elegant, in all the best ways.
