Tastes

I really wanted to like this one more than I actually did. It starts off just fine on the nose with vanilla and light fruit. Initially, the taste is very close to the aroma with honey and fruit, however, in the end there is a flavor note there that just doesn't sit well with me. The best way I can describe it is meat broth. This is probably an issue with my pallette and not the whiskey, but I just couldn't get past it when drinking it neat. It did mix well, hence the 2.5 stars. I have really enjoyed the other Bushmills varieties that I've tried (with Black Bush being my favorite), so if I can locate a second bottle of this I'll give it another try. Hopefully it will be different the second time around.

I'm really surprised by this one. I expected a huge kick of smoke. It's there, but really subdued. The nose is mostly pear, white grapes, honey, and again, very light smoke. On the tongue I'm getting the fruit again with butterscotch followed by black pepper, oak and light smoke.

Number three from Chattanooga Whiskey for me and this is the best one yet. The nose is light, smokey, sweet vanilla and dark brown sugar. I don't think I can adequately describe the flavor. It's surprisingly smooth with very little burn. Then comes the sweet vanilla and brown sugar again with some black pepper, and that light smoke! This one may very well get me into trouble!

This is the second Chattanooga Whiskey I've purchased and like the Cask 111, this one is outstanding. Very sweet nose with lots of vanilla - think old fashioned banana pudding. The flavor is caramel sweet with vanilla spice and just a hint of orange. Hardly any alcohol burn and a very woody, spicy finish. I love it! I'll definitely keep a bottle of this around all the time.

Absolutely fantastic whiskey! Old fashioned banana pudding on the nose, with a deeply sweet and woody flavor. The finish has just the right amount of bite with lingering vanilla and caramel. Go find this and enjoy!

The aroma is mostly sweet with a touch of vanilla. The flavor is honey and butter with a bit of orange. Drinks easy with little burn.

Pleasantly surprised by this one! It definitely isn't what I expected. Leathery, woody aroma. Smoky campfire and light fruit flavors with faint camphor and evergreen at the end.

Pear and white grape aroma. The taste is buttery with light honey sweetness. Smooth with little to no alcohol burn. Really like this one as a sipper.
