The nose of the vodka is very faint. There are wisps of grain and an almost imperceptible scent of sweet corn that finishes with light mineral notes. The vodka is delightfully neutral. There are subtle mineral notes that develop into a pleasant burn on the tongue. The finish is smooth with a moderate burn that settles into a warm glow in the chest. Should be excellent for mixing, but very good for shots if that is more your speed.

The nose is complex, featuring notes of wood smoke and apple, along with a sweetness. A mixture of caramel and vanilla I believe. On the palate the drink tastes mostly of rye and grains. Corn may be lightly distinguished from the others, though it is a subtle foundation on which the rye is lain. The vanilla flavor evolves out of this given time. The finish is mostly spicy rye and heat. An excellent mixing whiskey.

The nose of the whiskey is soft with rye notes and light floral notes behind the grain. On the palate it is dry with notes of rye and a smooth finish with a honeyed sweetness in the end. The aftertaste is of leather with a floral tint as well, you can lightly pick up the taste of the barrels. It is quite pleasant.

Old Pulteney 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 30, 2019 (edited January 14, 2020)The nose of the drink is an odd mix of sweet and salty. There is a sweetness reminiscent of the bourbon casks it is aged in that evolves into the scent of brine and a light smoke. On the palate the scotch starts light. It is rather fruity with an airy breath of citrus and pear. One may detect some cereal notes. There is some peatiness to the scotch as well, very little. It finishes with a coffee like flavor very late. -
The nose of the whiskey smells of sweet corn mash extremely reminiscent of a white dog. It starts with corn, and quickly transitions into the scent of flour and is then overpowered by alcohol. It is not pleasant. On the palate there is a young woody flavor. The vanilla one might expect from a bourbon is not present. The flavor is also very grain forward. Again, the alcohol overpowers the rest of the profile. Aged too long to be a white dog, and not long enough to be a bourbon.

Glenfiddich 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 2, 2019 (edited December 1, 2019)The nose of the scotch features heavy notes of vanilla and fruit reminiscent of apple and pear. On the palate the whiskey features peaty notes with vanilla following, presumably from the American oak casks. There is also a touch of grain in the taste. -
Glenlivet 12 Year Double Oak
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 2, 2019 (edited December 1, 2019)The nose of the whiskey is dominated by the scent of oranges, just at the end there is a sweet note of honey and a faint whisp of smoke. It is reminiscent of an Old Fashioned. On the tongue the scotch is light with a sweet twist of orange followed by a light hint of peat. There is a honeyed sweetness throughout. By far and away my favorite scotch to date.
