i really wanna say this is somewhere between Johnnie Walker Black and Evan Williams black. Evan is my go to for well bourbon and once it's opened for long enough I really enjoy it even up. That being said, for the price this crown black ain't bad. When it's this smokey I prefer it a bit more salty, but yeah this is somewhere between a smokey scotch and a decently smooth cheap bourbon. I recommend giving it at least a try. I don't hate it, I don't love it. In my opinion it's okay. Sure does smell nice, aired out almost smells like Maker's a bit. Straight out the bottle no air, it smells harsh. The taste is smooth for this price range.

Sweet my ass. Sorry but this bourbon is whatever. Kinda like a eagle rare without anything I like about it. Didn't even like it with a splash. It does smell nice. Forgot to smell it before the splash... I dunno.. it's whatever man. I'd hate to be stuck with a fifth of this. Probably a good mixer but at this price grab something you already like. Meh.

As I've become more of a scotch drinker since experimenting with spirits, on a whim a few weeks ago I grabbed a half pint of hennessy at the end of my shifts at a liquor store and while I'm sure it's good for cocktails and the likes it's actually pretty good for just sipping much like you would a scotch. I open the bottle, let it sit open for a while, gradually taking sips as they get smoother and even more aromatic. Smells smooth, tastes smooth. Always disappointing to reach the bottom. :-)

I've been sipping half pints of hennessy after work the last couple weeks (I work 2 nights a week at a liquor store) and I gotta say I haven't had the two side by side for a comparison yet but getting a pint of vs courvoisier for a couple dollars more than a half pint of Hennessy, it seems pretty comparable. Pretty decent smoothness for a sipper. I'm normally a scotch guy but it's hard finding half pints and pints of single malt.
