Definitely smells like a wine cask, deep wine aroma combined with malted barley. Flavor is massive, medium rich body carrying juicy fruit flavor, green grapes and apricot, at least to me. The tail tingly but it feels like that's the proof more than spice. As the tail continues it tastes almost like congac. Has an almost sour tang at the very end.The Barrel Thief

Heavenly aroma. I get almost all peat but it's not overpowering. It's dark and almost subtle. Flavor actually kind of matches, it's all pretty subtle and subdued for me. Peat is there but is gentle, some light sweetness and wood but everything quiet. Color is light as well, almost like everything was watered down, but it's still plenty rich. The gentle flavor feels intentional, refined. The Barrel Thief

Westland Greenwood Cider Cask Exchange
American Single Malt — Seattle, WA, USA
Reviewed July 27, 2024Lots of grain, apple and age on the nose, musty complexity. The flavor is a little bright for me. Still excellent as their cask exchanges always are, but just too sparkly for my taste. Nice apple pie flavor, maybe with some brown sugar.Westland Distillery -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2022-01 "Ronnie's Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed July 17, 2024 (edited August 6, 2024)Liquid bourbon fire, sweet caramel on the tongue before a huge alcohol hit. It's textbook bourbon and quite nice, only issue is the tail gets lost in the burn.Brick & Mortar -
Light sour aroma, lemon and barley, or something floral. Flavors are more muted, but a bright lemon hits on the tail. Sparkling vanilla and like tapioca on the tongue, sparkle matches the sour tail. Overall balanced well, but rare flavors for me. Not my style but points for originality.Brick & Mortar
