Knob Creek Cask Strength Straight Rye (2018 Release)
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 29, 2018 (edited February 13, 2019)Just picked up a bottle today and had a couple of drams from it. Wonderful nose of baking spices, caramelized sugars, some wood and long legs on the glass. On the palate, incredibly rich, sugary and vanilla sweetness with balanced cinnamon spice. Long finish that keeps you wanting more. Considering the proof, very smooth and absolutely delicious. In my opinion, no water needed to savor and enjoy this wonderful whiskey. -

As a WT fan boy I was a bit skeptical about this whiskey but happy to say I was not disappointed. Smooth, lingering finish with typical WT spice, oak, tobacco and a nice amount of sweetness. Incredibly easy to drink while retaining the aforementioned character. Neat is the way to go with this one. Cheers!

This is a polarizing whisky due to its name, marketing, etc...with reviews that are either in the like it or hate it camp. I must admit that I avoided trying it since it came out but I finally tried it and must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, it's pretty straightforward and not very complex but if you're like me who enjoys a woody, spicy (cinnamon/nutmeg), semi sweet whisky with a higher proof at a sub $20 price tag then this is for you. Definitely adding to my rotation

Very enjoyable JB with a wonderful nose of oak (no surprise), vanilla, caramel and would have to agree with other reviews of pipe tobacco. Nose and legs linger forever. Taste is on par with the nose with a medium spicy oaky finish and a nice amount of heat on the back end. A few drops of water really opens this whisky up making the aforementioned notes even more pronounced. Nicely done, well priced and a good change of pace for those who like me, drink more of robust, spicier whisky but still has enough body and bravado to keep it interesting and enjoyable.

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 16, 2016 (edited October 26, 2017)Finally able to get my hands on a bottle of this famed barrel proof. Neat-Incredible nose and taste...Heavy barrel/oaky, leathery notes on both nose and palate as well as vanilla, caramel and big time cinnamon. A beautiful, viscous ,bold and complex bourbon. One small cube opens up the nose and palate slightly and gives more of a sweeter profile while subduing the wood notes just a tad. My bottle is 139.4 proof and ridiculously smooth. Cheers!
