New Riff Kentucky Straight Bourbon Bottled In Bond
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 9, 2019 (edited May 18, 2019)Quite impressive BIB for a new distillery...It’s exactly what it says it is...Rich, intense, spicy, straightforward bourbon which I truly enjoy. Nice nose of wood, rye spices and vanilla. On the palate a bit viscous, great balance of sweet and spicy with a medium, warming finish. An enjoyable dram -
Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 24, 2019 (edited May 22, 2019)Beautiful brown sugary sweet , loads of cinnamon spice and a perfect amount of oak to round things off. Viscous mouth feel, medium long finish. Elegant and pure expression of what WT bourbon is all about. -
A fantastic rye with an outstanding price tag. This is a perfectly SPICY and sweet rye that hits on all cylinders. Terrific nose of brown sugar, vanilla, lots of cinnamon and even some minty notes. Wonderful, long legs that go on forever. On the palate, POW!!! It lets you know that the mashbill is high rye but done right. Pepper, Cinnamon, Clove, definitely Dill and rounded out nicely with sweet, malty flavors. Long, dry finish... Sipped neat, as it should but I can see this doing nicely with a large ice cube or in a cocktail. Well done Brown Forman team!

Wild Turkey Master's Keep Revival
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 19, 2018 (edited February 13, 2019)Merry Christmas to me! Picked up a bottle today and enjoying a few drams of this great whiskey. As posted previously, I am a WT fanboy (101 and Rare Breed are standards in my home) so naturally had try this one. This is 101 but with more character, complexity and SPICE!! It’s definitely fruitier due to the sherry influence but is packed with oak, vanilla sweetness, and instead of baking spices like in their other whiskey, this is different with black peppercorn also playing a role. It’s viscous, with incredibly long legs and a nice medium length finish. This Master’s Keep is quite different than the Decades version and certainly enjoying it a bit more too. Cheers! -
Old Ezra 7 Year Barrel Strength Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 13, 2018 (edited February 14, 2019)Truly a fantastic barrel proof bourbon! Traditional notes of vanilla, caramel, lots of oak (which I love), cinnamon spice and hints of leather. Incredibly smooth neat, long warming finish without any burn. My fave mid priced barrel proof and go to remains WT Rare Breed however, this is firmly right behind it. What a great find! Enjoy -
As a WT fanboy, I was a bit on the fence whether to try this whiskey as the 101 and Rare Breed are my faves. Well, I’ve just opened my second bottle and thoroughly enjoying it. Nice balance of vanilla, caramel, baking spices, and wood. Slightly astringent but very smooth, easy sipping and considering it’s 86 Proof it has nice medium finish. Enjoy!
