Tastes

Nose is fruity, sweet. Very good complexity for the price. A sourish front-end, like dried fruit, then comes a very heavy ripe, dark fruity note, malty sweetness, then a good amount of spiciness (yumm), and from the back-back-end a vanilla note/aftertaste. Delicious, especially for something this young!! A superb single malt! Especially for the price. Not much can beat this at this price, if anything really. It goes for the amount of a more pricier blended scotch but is much better tasting (I hate the grain whiskey taste in blended whiskys). I think this is one of the best value whiskeys you can buy, period. Single malt or not. Very tasty and takes you for a ride. Most definitely recommended!

Nose: Sea water, a bit of sweetness, peat smoke Taste: Good complexity for the price. A slight burn, no bite. First it is salty, sea water, mud, a little bit of sweetness appears, a tad bit spiciness, then a good amount peat smoke appears. Delicious. Finish: Short finish mostly smoke and tar. The smoke stays for long. Summary: A superb blended scotch for the price. I think this is one of the best value whiskeys you can buy, period. Very tasty and takes you for a ride. Recommended

Nose: A bit of sweetness, cookie, slight metalic note Taste: A simple one. No burn, no bite. A bit of sweetness on the taste as well, maybe some baking spice / cookie, apple, a slight metalic taste. Similar to the nose. Finish: Very short, apple. Summary: It is an okay / good sipping whiskey. Not complex at all, but that is not necessarily bad. I account the slight metalic note to the fact that it in fact might be a younger whiskey, but at least it is not bitter. I recommend it if you can get it for a good price. I prefer it to the Jack Daniel's which does have a bitter / young whiskey taste.

Nose: Vanilla, maybe some oak, thin ethanol, caramel Taste: Very simple and light. A slight burn. Low bite. A slight vanilla, very sweet and warm, nothing special but it is not harsh at least. Finish: Very short, maybe some oak followed by a strange bitter taste. I account that to the age of the whiskey (it is young). Summary: It is a good mixer (very good with coke) and okay for sipping neat. Still I can't really recommend it because it is overpriced. For nearly the same price you can get a ie. Jim Beam Black which is just a whole different category, much much better than the Jack Old No7. This should retail for the same price as the Jim Beam White. I'd still prefer the JB White because at least that has some complexity (if not much) and has a punch to it. This? Not so much. Not one of my favorite's

Nose: Smokey, maybe floral notes Taste: Much more complex than I have anticipated. No burn or bite. First it is smokey, peaty then it is spicy, maybe even a bit floral and goes to sweet. Delicious. Finish: Medium finish, a little bit sweet and floral again. Summary: A superb blended scotch, especially for the price I guess. It is very tasty and takes you for a ride. I would only drink this neat, it would be a sin to mix it. Buy the Red one for that.

Nose: Heavy vanilla, honey, a little bit of alcohol Taste: Not too complex. Very sweet, vanilla, honey, a tad bit fruity. Not woody at all. A little bith of alcohol burn is preset sadly, and a little alcohol tastes gets through somehow which I quite dislike. Finish: No woodiness present, short to medium finish, mostly the same honey notes. Summary: A good blended scotch, can be drunk neat or mixed

Nose: Mostly alcohol with a faint oak Taste: Super simple. Medium burn, heavy bite. A bit of sweetness on the front and overbearing alcohol on the back. No real flavors or complexity whatsoever. Finish: Faint oak, very short Summary: Not very impressed. It is too harsh to drink neat easily. It would make an okay mixer at most, the heavy alcohol influence might ruin the taste. Would not recommend.

Nose: Vanilla, sherry, oak, faint alcohol Taste: Not too complex or simple. No burn, no bite. Very sweet, vanilla, cinnamon, sherry Finish: Nice and oaky, medium Summary: A big improvement over the Jim Beam White. A good product for the price. Easy sipper, can be drunk neat without any hassle. For a little more you could go for the Maker's Mark, which is better imho
