    47% ABV Floral nose, with a hint of leather, clay after a rain, and a very slight acetone-like note that seems common to A. durangensis. Butter and stone fruit (think nectarines, plums, cherries) on the palate with earthy undertones. Chilis and leather on the finish. A good mezcal, pairs really well with roasted chicken.

    Earthy, rich, full. There’s a little bite and bitterness when chilled, but those both disappear completely when at room temp. Very good.

    Very light, clean, inoffensive. Sweet wheat on the palate with cereal flavors lingering on a long finish.

    Tasted neat in a glencairn. Very creamy mouthfeel, intensely mineral on the palate with sweet, bread-like notes underneath. Almost no “bite” whatsoever, very smooth. Absolutely delicious, I love it!

    Nose has notes of raisins, coffee, plum, a banana-like funk. Raisins, pineapple, slight funk, molasses and of course alcohol heat (this IS 138 proof, and while the nose gives no hint of it it’s definitely felt here) on the palate. Dark chocolate and molasses finish. Absolutely delicious neat if you can stand the heat. Just as delicious when mixed into eggnog.

    Cereal nose, faint sweetness on the palate with a peppery finish that leaves behind a faint taste of grain when it fades. Bought and tried this on a whim (having not had vodka in close to a decade), and I’m surprised at how much I could discern. It’s subtle, but the aromas and flavors are definitely there.

    Best rye of the four I’ve had yet, and not just the best of but also far better than the others. Spicy, fruity (but not in an overly sweet way), hot...this is delicious. Definitely a bottle I’m keeping on hand.

    Nose has notes of dried fruit and a hint of pipe tobacco. Dried fruit with a gentle sweetness on the palate, followed by a fruity and spicy finish. I don’t find it all that remarkable, I prefer more “in your face/volatile” flavors, and aside from the spicy finish nothing really stands out. It’s still very good though, not my first choice but definitely worth the price.

    Third rye I’ve tried, and the first that I’ve noticed the spice without having to look for it. Very nice. Aside from the spice, it’s pleasantly sweet. I like it.
