Glen Grant 10 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 3, 2017 (edited January 4, 2017)Very light, sweet mildly fruity and easy to drink. Not a complex whisky by any means, but if it's all ya got not too bad -
Clynelish 14 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 1, 2017 (edited January 4, 2017)Like the notes here say not really a stand out guy but for 50 bucks it's ok. Sweet caramel and peppery taste and gentle smoke on the finish. If I'm not mistaken most of this whiskey is used in johnie walker and only some of it is bottled. -
Bulleit Rye
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Kentucky), USA
Reviewed January 1, 2017 (edited January 4, 2017)A very versatile whiskey. Good enough to drink neat, cheap enough to shoot, mild enough to mix. Vanilla and sweet with just enough spice on the end. -
Dry Fly Straight Triticale
Other Whiskey — Washington , USA
Reviewed January 1, 2017 (edited January 4, 2017)Wasn't impressed for all the hype. Started out with sweet wheat and then rye completely took over. Cool to try once or twice but nothing special -
Bushmills 16 Year Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed January 1, 2017 (edited January 19, 2017)My favorite Irish whiskey. It seems everyone has a different opinion on the taste. To me it costs the tongue with honey and provides a mild smoky taste like a highland scotch but much milder. -
Templeton Rye 4 Year
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Iowa), USA
Reviewed January 1, 2017 (edited January 4, 2017)I'm guessing this is the no year expression that comes with the sweet ass wide mouth flask. My personal favorite is the 4 year expression. It has a nice spicy taste to it but mild and lingers for a nice long finish. Nutmeg or egg nog and vanilla come to mind. I currently have the six year which is much spicier and in my opinion does not taste like a more matured whiskey. But maybe my opinion will change with time
