A- amber +1, medium viscosit N- light peat and smoke, fruity ( tangerines, orange peels, sultanas) savory ( sweet bacon, white pepper) sweet (honey, vanilla) P- light smoky-peaty-spicy arrrival (it feels watered down), half full and rich, fruity (orange and tangerines) savory ( white pepper, bacon) sweet (honey, vanilla) dry oak F- short finish (not very pleasant), light smoky-fruity-oaky aftertaste C- just finishing this bottle after 9 months opened and will not replace it, I believe there are other good options for entry level peaty whisky out there that you should consider before getting this one IMO

Reviewed February 7, 2022 (edited September 28, 2022)A- amber+1, high viscosity N- gentle, pleasant, fruity (apricots, plums, sultanas, tangerines) sweet (vanilla, honey, toffee), white pepper ( was not expecting this) P- gentle spicy arrival, full, rich, oily, fruity (apricots, plums, sultanas, tangerines), sweet (toffee, honey, vanilla) licorice, tart, walnuts, wet oak F- medium to long finish, sweet-fruity-nutty aftertaste C- ok mix feelings with this one, this bottle have been opened for 8 months now and to be honest at the beginning I was a bit disappointed (like my fellow distillers friends in here) so I let it seat for almost 6 months and decided to come back to this one not sure if my palate has evolved but I'm finding nice and interesting tasting notes this time -

Reviewed February 3, 2022 (edited September 28, 2022)A- amber +2, low viscosity N- w/water: dark berries, plums, apricots, raisins, chocolate, honey, coffe beans, licorice, rum cake, burned sugar, P- w/water: spicy arrival (sherry bomb!!!), full, rich, sweet (milk chocolate, brûlée, honey, vanilla), dark berries, apricots, plums, espresso, rum cake, walnuts F- long finish, sweet (chocolatish)- espresso- oaky aftertaste (yummy!!!) C- classic sherry bomb , my bottle is batch 68 and it is good!!! if you love sherry whisky you should try one of these batches -
Laphroaig 10 Year Cask Strength (Batch 11)

Reviewed January 19, 2022 (edited September 28, 2022)A- amber +1, high viscosity N- w/water: smoke, medicinal laphroaig peat (lovely), savory (bacon, applewood ribs, vinegar, black pepper ) sweet ( chocolate, vanilla, barbecue sauce), sea salt, coffee beans, charcoal, burned oak P- w/water: spicy/peaty/smoky arrival, full, rich, oily, savory ( bacon, barbecue ribs, black pepper, vinegar) sweet (dark chocolate, vanilla), espresso, tobacco ashes, sea salt, baked apples, burned oaks F- long finish, smoky-peaty-savory-sweet- ashy aftertaste C- this one is a classic! one of the MUST have in your whisky journey at least once, not sure if you should get every batch release ( batch 14 is out there somewhere) but definitely once I finish this one will get another bottle from a different batch -

Reviewed January 2, 2022 (edited September 28, 2022)Half bottle Opened for 8 months A- amber +1, high viscosity N- chocolate, caramel, raisins, plums, apricots, dark berries, licorice, rum cake, espresso P- medium spicy arrival, full, rich, oily, milk chocolate, burned sugar , espresso, raisins, plums, apricots, walnuts, licorice, rum cake, dry oak F- medium finish, chocolate-espresso-oaky aftertaste (very nice!!) C - this for me is a perfect example on how your palate evolve overtime (in your whisky journey) and know you learn how to appreciate flavors that you did not find before, this is a solid dram delicious specially if you are a sherry lover, the ABV is perfect for this one in my opinion it doesn't need to add water just let it open in your glass and remember patience is key in this journey -
Glen Grant 15 Year Batch Strength 1st Edition

Reviewed December 28, 2021 (edited September 28, 2022)A- amber-1, high N- fruity ( orange peels, tangerines, lemon zest, sultanas, pineapple, mango) sweet ( honey, vanilla, toffee) fresh watered grass (interesting) P- fruity spicy arrival, full, rich, oily, sweet (honey, vanilla, toffee), fruity ( tangerines, lemons zest, oranges, sultanas, pineapple, mango, strawberries, red berries), wet oak F- medium to long finish, sweet-fruity-oaky aftertaste C- this is a perfect example how a dram once oxidized taste superior, I remembered scoring this one lower but oh boy how the flavors improved over time, it's fresh and tasty not complex but enjoyable I recommend drinking it neat without adding water -

Reviewed December 26, 2021 (edited September 28, 2022)A- amber +1, high viscosity N- w/water: smoke, peat, savory, bacon, black pepper, sea salt, vinegar, caramel, chocolate, vanilla, bonfire P- w/water: sweet-Peaty- smoky-spicy arrival ( barbecue on my mouth), rich, full, savory( bacon, black pepper steak, barbecue ribs) , sweet (dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel), briny, sea salt, tobacco, espresso, baked apples, dry oak F- long finish!!, smoky-peaty-savory-sweet aftertaste ( I'm pretty sure it would last till tomorrow morning) C- what a MONSTER dram this one is, in your whisky journey this ONE is a MUST have in your bar but be aware if you haven't tried peat whisky before you should consider a light peat option before jumping into this one -

Reviewed December 25, 2021 (edited September 28, 2022)A- amber+1, high viscosity N- cereal, bananas, honey, vanilla, pears, toffee, sultanas, wet oak P- elegant mild spicy arrival, full, rich, oily, cereal, malt barley, sweet ( honey, vanilla, toffee, milk chocolate), fruity (bananas, pears, sultanas), walnuts, wet oak F- medium finish, cereal-nutty-sweet-fruity aftertaste C- mix feelings with this one none of my MUST specs are here (it's 43%, chilled filtered and color added) BUT it tastes delicious and can't stop pouring so I have to say it's elegant and delicious and good value for the money
