Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 20, 2021 (edited September 28, 2022)A- amber +1, high viscosity N - honey, vanilla, sultanas,apricots, toffee, cereal, nutts, licorice P- nice spicy arrival, full, rich, oily, sweet (honey, vanilla, toffee) fruity (sultanas, orange peels, apricots) cereal, malt barley, dry oak, walnuts, licorice F- medium to long finish, sweet-cereal-oaky aftertaste C - this is one of my favorites I believe this is my second bottle funny enough this is the first time I'm reviewing it since it was my always my go to shared with friends but have not spent enough time tasting it , the ex bourbon have an strong influence on this one but you'll find some sherry notes (specially if you give it some time in the glass) I would say this is a good entry level dram and good value for the money it's a must if you are in this whisky journey (not complex but very enjoyable) -

Reviewed December 19, 2021 (edited December 17, 2022)Just opened the bottle A- amber +1, high viscosity N- cereal, nutty, vanilla, honey, toffee,fresh fruits ( tangerines, pears, green apples, sultanas, banana) P- gentle spicy arrival, full, rich, oily, nutty(peanuts, almonds, walnuts), sweet (honey, vanilla, toffee) fruity ( tangerines, sultanas, green apples, banana, pears) barley malt, cereal, wet oak F- medium to long finish, sweet-nutty-cereal- oaky aftertaste (yummy!!!) C- wow!! to be honest I was not expecting this what a delicious dram, not complex but yummy and balanced! and what I paid for this (89$) I think it's a steal if you manage to find a good deal for this one jump!!! I believe you won't be disappointed -
Aberlour 18 Year Double Cask Matured

Reviewed December 9, 2021 (edited September 28, 2022)A- amber +2, high viscosity N- gentle on the nose with notes of raisins, apricots, plums, tangerine, orange peels, honey, vanilla, toffee, rum cake, licorice, cotton candy P- beautiful spicy arrival, full, rich, oily, sweet (toffee, vanilla cake, milk chocolate, honey), fruity ( dried fruits, red berries, plums, apricots, tangerines, sultanas), brûlée, licorice, rum cake, wet oak, malt F- pleasant long finish, sweet-oaky-malt aftertaste (yummy!) C- OK I have a conflict with this one, why? because it's not an integrity malt (43 % ABV, non natural color, chilled filtered) none of my must specs is here BUT it's so balanced, elegant and delicious so if you have the chance try it because it's worth it but don't overpay do your research -
Royal Brackla 12 Year Sherry Cask Finish (Oloroso)

Reviewed December 4, 2021 (edited May 16, 2023)A- amber+2, medium viscosity N- honey, vanilla, chocolate, toffee, raisins, dark berries, plums, apricots, licorice, rum cake P- medium spicy arrival (yummy!), full, rich, oily, sweet (vanilla, milk chocolate, rum cake, toffee, burned sugar ), licorice, raisins, dried fruits, dark berries, plums, apricots, walnuts, oak F- medium finish, sweet-oaky-nutty- licorice aftertaste C- since the new revamped of Royal Brackla core range I wanted to try this new 12 YO I don't have a point of comparison with the old 12 YO since I did not try it but I can tell you this I like this one a lot! good amount of complexity in a reasonable price -
GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 8

Reviewed December 2, 2021 (edited December 17, 2022)A- amber +2, high viscosity N- w/water: raisins, dried fruits, apricots, plums, toffee, vanilla, milk chocolate, burned sugar, licorice, rum cake P- w/water: spicy arrival, rich, full, oily, sweet ( toffee, vanilla, milk chocolate, brûlée), apricots, plums, raisins, briny, rum cake, wet oak F- long finish, sweet-oaky-licorice aftertaste C- just opened this bottle I was curious since I've been reading and hearing mix reviews about this one and IMO it's good 61% ABV it's a beast and even at that ABV is enjoyable and balanced (of course a bit hot but who doesn't like a punch in the face from a sherry bomb)will let it seat and oxidized for 1 month and see how it evolves -

Reviewed December 1, 2021 (edited December 17, 2022)A- amber +1, medium viscosity N- honey, vanilla, caramel, banana, pears, green apples, wet oak P- light spicy arrival, oily, medium full, medium rich, seltzer, honey, vanilla, caramel, banana, pears, green apples, rubber, wet oak F- short to medium finish, sweet-fruity-seltzer aftertaste C- bourbon fans you might love this one, just opened this bottle and to be honest I feel a bit disappointed was expecting something different or a bit more complexity since it has been aged on 5 different casks (American, European, sherry butts, sherry barrels and port) for me I'm just noticing the heavy bourbon influence nothing from the sherry and port, I will let it oxidized for a while and hopefully will get something more interesting -
Kilkerran 12 Year

Reviewed November 29, 2021 (edited December 17, 2022)A- amber -1, low viscosity N- wonderful nose, light peat and smoke, honey, vanilla, toffee, tangerine, green apple, sultanas , chocolate, floral P- gentle light smoky spicy arrival (yummy!!), rich, full, oily, sweet( toffee, vanilla, honey, chocolate), white pepper, briny, sea salt, tangerine, orange peels, sultanas , oaky, grassy F- medium to long finish (very pleasant), sweet-fruity-oaky- mineral aftertaste C- what a dram this one is and the value is amazing, so much complexity lingering around if you let it seat for a longer period you'll discover mor flavors (patience is a virtue) -
The GlenAllachie 11 Years Old Px Wood Finish
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 27, 2021 (edited December 17, 2022)A- amber+2, medium viscosity N- vanilla, honey, wet oak, banana, berries, seltzer, plums, chocolate P- medium oaky spicy arrival, seltzer, full, rich, oily, sweet (honey, vanilla, milk chocolate), banana, plums, dark berries, wet oak, licorice F- short to medium finish, sweet-fruity-oaky-seltzer aftertaste C- the influence of the bourbon cask is strong on this one (btw I love my sherry) the finish of the Pedro Ximenez kicks in at the end but it is overpowered by the influence of the bourbon cask, I will wait one more month on this one and see how the oxidation will help it evolve -
