Tastes

Nose- Very sweet on the nose. Body- corn sweetness comes through with a black pepper spice Finish- Earthiness and black pepper continue, gradually fading to sweet grass

Nose- brine, iodine, grass, and heather Body- Very sweet at first with honey and plum, and his then gives way to smoke and black pepper. Multi-faceted as a mother! Finish- Black pepper slowly recedes to lemon and fresh cut grass

Nose- Lots of smoke, a little sweat tea, and a little brine. Body- The dram begins with surprising sweetness of vanilla and citrus. Then, holy hell! This thing is a smoke bomb. You get a heavy hit of campfire smoke. Finish- The finish is long. The smoke gradually recedes back to that sweet citrus note. I like it, but damn! You have got to be in the mood with this one. The smoke is just about (but not quite) overpowering.

Nose- Very sweet sherry and tropical fruit. Body- Really nice sweet pit fruit notes up front and then dark chocolate. This gives way to some harsher alcohol notes moving into the finish. Finish- Finish is not my favorite. There is some pepper and then a bitterness. Really nice upfront but unfortunately this doesn’t continue into the finish.

Nose- That signature overripe pit fruit fragrance mingled with honey notes. Less cloying then Lasanta. Body- Less sweet than the nose would have you believe but still quite sweet. The sweet dark fruit flavor is balanced fairly well with nutty and dark chocolate notes. It reminds me of a fruit and nut bar. I just wish it had a bit less maltiness. Finish- The dark chocolate notes continue through in the finish. Not bad, but I still don’t think I am a Glenmorangie guy.

Nose- Sweet with honey, raisins, and pit fruits Body- Very sweet and fruity at first that later gives way to oak notes Finish- Light. The hint of smoke becomes more prominent late in the finish. Not bad overall but very one dimensional.

Nose- Earthy, lavender, walnut, and leather Body- Delicious Vanilla and honeysuckle with a sprinkle of cinnamon and black pepper. Finish- Sweet honeysuckle gives way to black pepper and a hint of brine.

Nose- Black pepper and a floral note. Body- Black pepper and baking spices. Full bodied and tasty. Finish- Cinnamon and vanilla give way to black pepper. This is a solid rye. With a pleasant, full body.

Nose- Slightly astringent, Vanilla and a hint of pickle brine Body- Pickle brine, vanilla, and pepper continue with a thin mouthfeel. Finish- Very very easy drink with an easy, short finish. Like many ryes for me, the finish is easy but the body and initial flavor is meh.

Nose- Astringent young corn notes with vanilla and plum. Body- Very sweet and light bodied with orange. Unfortunately these pleasant notes are overshadowed by unpleasant grain bitterness. Finish- Fresh cut grass and a hint of black pepper on the end.
