Nose- Young grain moonshine notes. Body- Unpleasant syrupy sweet notes, fresh grass, and lemon zest that is like a thick Irish whiskey rather than a bourbon. Finish- The fresh cut grass and a bit of raw peanut come through on the end making the finish more pleasant than the body. Terreseesntia claims that they can make a whiskey aged mere months taste like one aged several years. I claim bullshit.

Joseph Magnus Triple Cask Finished Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (Finished and Bottled in Washington DC), USA
Reviewed November 9, 2018 (edited November 25, 2018)Nose- Fairly muted with brown sugar and sweet tea Body- Very sweet upfront but also a bit spicy with noticeable malt notes. Finish- There are malty notes of dark chocolate and grain in the end. This definitely has a rich mouthfeel. A bit malty for my taste though. -
Hancock's President's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 9, 2018 (edited December 9, 2018)Nose- I love the nose! Green apple, brown sugar, and prominent sweet tart Body- tastes a lot like Blanton’s, brown sugar, walnut, leather, with an earthy, muted sweetness Finish- Brown sugar gives way to black pepper and leather I friggin love the nose. I like the body and finish a lot. -
Nose- Creamy butterscotch. Frankly, not a great sign for me. I like my wheats in the caramel, brown sugar side of things. Body- Earthy with walnut and butterscotch. The volume is turned down with this one as one might expect with a wheated bourbon. Finish- Maybe a bit of coffee here. Not bad but unremarkable overall. I prefer bourbon on the bright, sweet side. This bourbon is muted and more savory.

Nose- Sweat tea and green apple Body- Rich with brown sugar and creamy caramel. Fruit notes are there too with rich plum giving way to the dry citrus. Finish- Spicy but fairly short finish. In fact, I find the finish to be a bit shorter than the gold rendition. You definitely feel the high proof here. I love the beginning of this dram. There is a rich mouthfeel that really coats your tongue with sweet and fruity notes. However, at this abv (127.3) the finish is a bit challenging. I look forward to experimenting with a bit of water or ice. Very good overall but the gold wins out for me for a neat pour. First enjoyed this in a blind taste test where I destroyed Milliardo and Freeeeeeeedom! Haha!

Blanton's Gold Edition
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 14, 2018 (edited September 23, 2022)First off Distiller, that is a really weird review. Just sayin. Nose- Caramel green apple! Yep, I’m gonna like this one. Body- Sweat tea tannins are prevalent with orange marmalade and burnt brown sugar throughout. The green apple dry citrus note is there but more in mouthfeel than flavor. There is a spicy tongue tingle throughout the body and into the finish. Finish- The caramel green apple returns in the finish with just a hint of spearmint. This is a great one. Out of the original, gold, and sftb, this one wins best of show for me. I like the rich, thick brown sugar body of the sftb but the finish is just too hot neat. The gold really is the best of both worlds, full flavored while also approachable neat. Pisses me off that I have to have this imported. I really don’t understand why Blanton’s screws Americans like that.
