Nose- heavy peat and buttery nugget Body- bold peat immediately followed by ocean brine lemon zest and just a touch of vanilla Finish- peat smoke gives way to sweet mint Note- this is a complex scotch but I didn't find it as well balanced as I would have liked. The brine and peat were a but overbearing.

Nose- surprisingly light fragrance of vanilla with very little trace of peat Body- bright and hot mouthfeel but crisp as easy to drink (especially at 8 years) Finish- clean and short Note- although lacking in complexity, this was a very like able scotc when desiring something light yet flavorful.

Nose- signature honey comes through immediately giving way to sweet overripe blackberries Body- glowing warmth that comes from an incredibly well balanced peat that is noticeably more pervasive than other Balvenies, this peat is brilliantly balanced with honey drizzled berries placed on toast with salted butter Finish- the buttered toast comes through in the finish giving way to light cigar smoke and ocean brine Note- I had this at MacMcgee's in Atlanta, GA. This is by far the most impressive scotch selection that I have seen. I mean amazing (220 scotches) To this point, this is the best whiskey that I have ever had. Incredible complexity and balance.

Nose- vanilla, almond, and slight plums, Body- honey and almod gives way to salt and peat Finish- smoky finish that lingers eventually giving way to sweet grass Overall- sweet and well balanced with peat, a nice dram Tried again in my first Flaviar taster. Very good.

Nose- sweet tea and lemon, Body- very spicy wih high rye taste of peppercorn, pickle brine and molasses, finish- sweet grass and mint Note- not my favorite, a little to high in rye for me. I don't care for the pickle brine.

Nose- heavy peat and sweet bread, body- heavy smoke and salt reminiscent of the ocean, finish- gives way to rye bread and butter I am getting to a point that I appreciate peaty... Huh. CASIE 2015

Nose-heavy vanilla, Body- bright and hot on the tongue cinammon, Finish-mint and pepper. I like this one a lot! Very spicy but not overpowering. Cheers to CASIE 2015!

Nose- floral with a hint of mint Body- spicy cinnamon and mint wit light wisps of smoke and vanilla Finish- light mint and smoke

Nose- honeyed Granny Smith apples and a hint of vanilla Body- Dramatic honey sweetness at first that gives way quickly to peat in the swallow and malty coffee through the finish. Has a nice apple flavor to the body. Finish- A bold whisky with a long warm finish of light smoke and lemon grass

Nose- nice balance of peat smoke, vanilla, and a hint of citrus Body- peat seems to overpower the more subtle flavors here although vanilla clearly comes through Finish- long and smoke Note- just too peaty for me, it seems to overpower rather than balance
