Tastes

Some peat on the nose and you can small the ethenol but there is a hint of something sweet. Tasting it reveals some smoke and more sweetness. The finish has a little bit of a burn. Generally I think it's inoffensive and have had worse, but maybe not a go-to.

It's good, but I don't see they hype about it. It's made with a bourbon mashbill and it tastes... pretty much like a bourbon. Loads of caramel and brown sugar on the nose and palate along with some vanilla and butterscotch. Not much of a char/smokey taste from the used barrels, you get much more of the spirit. It is easy to drink, not very spiky at all. I like it, but don't come at it thinking it's something totally different than a bourbon.

The nose is maple with rye spice, molasses cookies, and a hint of citrus, mostly orange. The taste is sweet maple syrup and a hint of spice. A dessert whiskey if there ever was one and my favorite.

Carmel and cherry on the nose. The taste is sweet with brown sugar and vanilla. Can taste a little rye influence and a little cherry. An enjoyable sipper.

Easy to drink and relatively sweet. Malty with a a bit of brown sugar. Hints of oak and char.

Bought in the hope of finding a cheaper, more readily available version of Angel's Envy Rye. I would say it's almost there. There is a lot of maple syrup flavor on the nose and the taste but unlike in the AE, the rye spice peaks out more and it isn't nearly as sweet (but still very sweet). While it won't replace AE rye anytime soon for me, it is still a worthy challenger and this is a bottle I'm more likely to share.

Love the labels but the whiskey is not great. Missing any impact in the flavor, it's very boring, and it can't even stand up to Coke that well. Maybe the aged stuff is a little better, buy I'll probably just stick to the flavored versions if I buy this brand.

Apples for days! The nose reminds me of apple brandy. The taste is light and soft. Hints of smoke and more apples. Great pick for the price.
