Dalmore 12 Year Sherry Cask Select
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 1, 2023 (edited September 7, 2023)Bottle kill review. Easy to like. Nose: Sherry, raisins, orange zest, toffee, hints of chocolate and nuts. Quite enjoyable. Palate: Same as nose, plus some honey, baking spices, tobacco, french roast coffee grounds, barrel spices and caramel. A little thin, but still very enjoyable. Finish: Long enough with honey, nuts, raisin, orange, french vanilla, baking and barrel spice notes. A little bitterness creeps in detracting from overall enjoyment. -
Freshly opened bottle. Initial impression is this is not a very good whiskey. Nose is pungent and vegital. Palate is oily and has predominant green banana note, but somewhat viscous, tolerable at least. Finish is a little better, somewhat longish and warming, with residual spices, sweet and savory notes. Overall, not off to a great start.29.99 USD per Bottle

Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage 2011
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 22, 2023 (edited July 25, 2023)Bottle kill. Nose and palate: Honey, graham crackers, caramel, cherry, chocolate, baking spices and oak. Finish: Long and slightly peppery with all the notes of the nose and palate. Kinda average neat, but excelled as a mixer. Too bad you now have to buy at the distillery. 3.5 neat. 4.0 in whiskey sour or old fashioned. -

Highland Park Twisted Tattoo 16 Year

Gift from my youngest daughter, picked up in the Narita (Tokyo) airport. Label is different, a limited addition, I assume the juice is the same. Fruity and spicy on the nose. Same on the palate with vanilla and honey. Its a bit gritty, oily and coating. Finish is long enough, a bit fiery with fruity, spicy and vanilla notes. This is a fantastic blend!21.0 USD per Bottle
