Aberlour A'bunadh
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 1, 2020 (edited April 15, 2020)Really hott and spicy! After adding water it opens this bad boy up to an extremely sweet whisky! Nose of dried dark fruits and sherry. Taste is malty and sweet with big notes of sherry. Finish is long and taste like a bite of Sicilian orange. Love it! -
It was a pretty light whisky, fudge and toffee with some fruity notes, it is finished in French limousin oak casks. It was like a typical Speyside, the more you drinking it, the more enjoyable it gets well into the night. Glad to have had it, I am not one to bash a good whisky, but for a similar price point I would prefer an Aberlour or something that is a little fuller.

Deanston Virgin Oak
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 2, 2019 (edited December 14, 2019)Good affordable Scotch! Nose of raisins caramel and slightly floral, taste is smooth with lemon-honey, followed by a caramel finish on the tongue. Will be a bit harsh but after I added water it kinda mellowed all of the flavor out. Drink it like a man and it will treat you like one.38.0 USD per Bottle -
Jefferson's Reserve Pritchard Hill Cabernet Cask Finish
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 19, 2019Nose is very sweet, initial taste of fruits and ending with an almond tinge, finish is a bit boozy with an ending of clear Cabernet that fills the mouth. -
The nose is primarily peat with salt and smoke. Which translates to the taste, smokey and a taste of Scottish coastline, and slightly oily in the mouth but a bit numbing due to the cask strength, has a good finish. I had this neat, but should have added a touch of water to help bring out the flavors.
