Glenfiddich 15 Year Our Solera Fifteen
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed August 20, 2022 (edited January 16, 2023)Fruity nose of grapes, citrus, and apples. Taste has a nice buttery feel with some toasted oak notes on top of mild floral and fruity notes, it’s a bit waxy with an interesting middle. Finish moves into some nice spice and has medium length. Solid scotch. -
Smells wheated with vanilla and spice. Taste comes in smooth and sweet but not overly so with notes of caramel, vanilla and oak but has a really good mouthfeel and balance to it. Finish moves very nicely into some spice that isn’t overly hot, especially for 104 proof. Initial impression is quite exceptional.

Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 11, 2022 (edited January 16, 2023)Reminiscent of a Bulleit. Average bourbon that doesn’t stand out but not bad to sip on. -
Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 5, 2022 (edited August 20, 2022)Nice nose, traditional caramel, vanilla, oak but seems to have some heat to it. Later on I got some rye on the nose. Definitely taste some rye in the mash with some caramel and maybe a slight fruity hint. Finish is nice, maybe a bit medicinal, not too hot. I like it but can’t say I find much overly stand out about it to match the reviews I’ve seen. -
WhistlePig 6 Year PiggyBack Rye
Rye — (bottled in) Vermont, Canada
Reviewed August 4, 2022 (edited January 16, 2023)Nice caramel nose with the traditional rye accents. Taste comes in the same with a rye forward taste mixed with caramel and spice. Smooths out for the finish and flavors remain mostly consistent. Enjoyable rye, nothing particularly stand out though. -
Pure Scot Signature Blended Whisky
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed August 3, 2022 (edited January 16, 2023)Sweet nose, very citrus forward with apples. Taste matches and comes in really sweet *almost* too sweet, adds a little caramel too. Finish still makes you feel like you took a bite off a caramel apple at a fair. Really smooth and enjoyable except that it’s really pushing the boundary of too sweet. -
Heaven's Door Single Barrel Cask Strength Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed August 3, 2022 (edited January 16, 2023)Caramel, oak, and maybe a tiny hint of barbecue on the nose. Taste hops in sweet (caramel and vanilla) with some nice oak forward notes that aren’t too “woody”. It’s darker and more complex of a taste so potentially more notes to find yet. It darkens as it sits and moves into a nice spicy full finish that has some heat but isn’t over the top for 120 proof. Very enjoyable.
