Tastes

Noses strong alcohol, very sharp ethanol and brown sugar sweetness, salted caramel. Palate has heat with orange peel, brown sugar and eucalyptus. Clings a bit and lingers with some vanilla sweetness with an undertone bitterness. Salted caramel is a big image in my mind here.

This is a solid rye expression, it’s got a sense of rye grain on the palate, with some fresh mint, herbs and oak spice that compliments the bread palate as well. I do think it’s very distinctive from a lot of ryes, in particular ones with the MGP high rye profiles. Unique and really a journey for me.

Nose has peanuts, Orange, oak and a vanilla sweetness that comes through on the palate. I get peanut butter and a kick of sugary fruit sweetness followed by a nice slow burn that compliments everything else.

Had my first taste after hearing I had been promoted due to a resignation in my company. Bright, heavy and some complicated things I need to sit with tonight... but I enjoyed a good companion who is all of those things in this dram. Hits the nose with pears apricots, mintiness and a out of peat. The bourbon sweetness hits first followed by a rye burst of minty fruit, with a mid to back palate smokiness in the background. There’s a lot going on, I do enjoy it!

Toffee and coffee, cherries and vanilla pudding on the nose. Hits the palate with a sweet cinnamon oak tone, strong barrel presence midway through with the spice and oak. Much more interesting than the standard makers, would drink this neat over it.

Very clean but heavy fruit nose with vanilla in the background. It does have a berry-sweet beginning on the palate, followed by a alcohol nip and bananas leading into a lingering oaky finish. Very intense and good to drink at the end of a long week!

Very distinctive mineral vitamin nose with your more typical bourbon notes, hits the palate with sweetness, corn syrup, chalky vitamin, and a medium finish that resolves with oak and vanilla, cherry on top. A profile I could pick out of a blind for sure!

The nose is the best thing about this one, sweet and lightly fruity. Cherries and light burnt vanilla. Palate starts sweet and then hits a massive oak note that stays and lingers with more of a rye finish.

A very fun whiskey! Smells juicy, fruity, spicy. Hits the palate with spice, fruitiness and a sense of juiciness, and that rye baking spice comes through. Dries the mouth out it’s so potent! For the money just an amazing thing to have neat or in a cocktail.

Solid Irish whiskey, would say that the sherry cask comes through on the nose with a dark stone fruit , combined with malty character. Hits the palate sweet and malty too, with undertones of fruits and a light finish. It’s worth the money to upgrade to black bush from the typical bush mills.
