CACHAÇA MATRIARCA BLEND TROPICAL GOIABEIRA LOURO CANELA & JEQUITIBÁ ROSA
Cachaça — Caravelas, Bahia, Brazil
Reviewed July 17, 2024Cachaça Matriarca has been produced by hand for more than three decades on the Cio da Terra farm, located between Caravelas, Lajedão and Medeiros Neto, in the extreme south of Bahia. The region, which is traditionally recognized for its rich massapê soil, has stood out in recent years for its differentiated sugarcane production. The history of the Matriarch is intertwined with the entrepreneurship of its creator, Adalberto Alves Pinto. The youngest son of a family of eight brothers, Beto Pinto, as he is known, grew up listening to the lessons of his mother Aracy, an excellent farmer, who practically single-handedly raised and educated all her children like a true matriarch. In the incessant search for the perfect flavor, Matriarca handcrafts the vats and barrels used in production on its own property, which allows it to perfect every detail and innovate, being a pioneer in the use of jackfruit. In this way, the beauty, colors, textures and varieties of wood are valued. Cachaça Matriarca Blend Tropical 500ml is aged in three different woods: guava, blonde - cinnamon and jequitibá barrels. With 40% alcohol content, the distillate has a bright light yellow visual appearance, aroma with notes of red fruits and floral, with a soft sweetness. Furthermore, it has a smooth palate with vegetal notes, a fruity aftertaste and a slight astringency. Source Cachaçaria Nacional.30.0 USD per BottleExpocachaça -

Around 1896, on the Pé da Serra site, located in Vila de Gravatá, today Caraguataí, the sugarcane sugar, sugarcane molasses and cachaça production mill emerged, created by Mr. Zeferino Alves Pereira and his wife Maria Francisca Marques. At the time, the creator already started innovating, placing the drink in 10-liter glass gallons with the brand “O PAPAGAIO”. Around 1911, he innovated once again by building a new mill just for cachaça and increased sugar cane production by increasing the planting area. From then on, production passed from father to son! In 1996, his granddaughter, Anita Vitalia Pereira, decided to found, together with other producers, the Cooperative of Associated Producers of Cane and its Derivatives of the Abaíra Microregion, called COOPAMA. From then on, a new era of quality artisanal cachaça began with investments in new industries, technology and new varieties of sugar cane. With such implements there was a revolution in the production of cachaça in the Region. Thus, “Cachaça Caraguataí” and “Chapada Diamantina” have been produced since 1997, with investments in sugarcane varieties that are more resistant to diseases, state-of-the-art equipment, ongoing cachaça production technology, and even Now arriving on the market, it has been working for more than ten years to come up with a differentiated product, with strict quality control, and also, favored by a location in Chapada Diamantina that allows it to have water and a climate favorable to the production of a good cachaça, capable of achieving a bouquet and flavor that only exist in this region, due to yeasts with their own characteristics, and, therefore, a cachaça with a unique flavor!
