A blend with a lot of Speyside character. Widely available and easy drinking. One negative is that the price has come up quite a bit over the years, at the same time several new options have come into the market. Not something I seek out, but when it crosses my path I have enjoyed its company. Cheers!

Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 2, 2018 (edited July 30, 2018)I know that people are sick of hearing this, but today’s Macallan barely resembles what it used to be. Make no mistake, what it used to be was simply fabulous. It seems to me that Edrington is trading on a name and reputation rather than on the quality of the spirit they are currently bottling... and with the money they are making why would they care. I find it very difficult to spend my money on this Malt. -
Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt
Blended Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed March 2, 2018 (edited October 28, 2018)A reasonably priced sweet and spicy Malt blend. Great for guests who may not appreciate a quality Single Malt. They can drown it with ice or pollute it with a mixer and you just won’t care. Cheers! -
Macallan Double Cask 12 Year
Single Malt — Highland, Scotland
Reviewed March 2, 2018 (edited March 12, 2018)Wonderful nose, arrival is fruity yet slightly astringent, finish is tannin heavy. Not sure why they bothered to double mature their Malt if they were going to use such sub par Casks. -
McClelland's Single Malt Highland
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 2, 2018 (edited March 4, 2018)This is what Glen Garioch tastes like chill filtered and bottled at 40% after only the minimum legal maturation. You get hints of what it could be, but it falls flat and delivers disappointment. At $23 for a single malt, especially a Malt like Glen Garioch, it’s hard to complain too much.
