Tastes

not a big fan of big peat, but this is good stuff. peat? yes. medicinal notes? yes. wonderful sweetness, especially on the finish? yes! i can see it being too sweet for some. a drop or two of water tames the sweetness. the proof is noticeable, but it's hard to argue with the layout.

first taste was not so good. tasted sour & flat. next taste brought a little more flavor & a touch more sweetness, but still lacking for me.

not for the sweeter palate, but flavorful nonetheless.

palate has a bit of funkiness similar to wine terroir. the sweetness lays right over top making it an easy drinking pour.

very, very nice sweetness on the palate. wonderful dram.

i can see why some like it & some don't. rye taste is sour, sweetness floats underneath.

smooth as silk & so enjoyable.

hard to criticize a standard

hmm... charcoal mellowed rye. the rye in the mashbill comes through crystal clear. punchy finish helps bring some character. drinking it while eating food brings a nice sweetness to the palate. a solid drink.

darker & toastier flavor than its color would make you believe. tons of rye spice, licorice & pepper. couple drops of water brings more sweetness, but is just fine as is. as burly a rye as you could ever want.
