Lagavulin Offerman Edition Guinness Cask Finish
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 26, 2021Vanilla, sugar cookie, smoked kelp nose. Mouth: typical Lagavulin 16 antiseptic and peat but rounder and less intense (the Guinness barrels cut those notes for sure), coffee, chocolate, and a hint of mint. Sweet and briny finish with lingering vanilla and peat finish. I really expected to dislike the sweetness in this scotch, but feel it makes this more accessable to drinkers who get scared away by the strong peat/ smoke Islay scotch. It is a unique whisky and definitely worth trying
