    N- dark fruit like a raisin, sea salt T- brine, dark fruit, dark chocolate F- lingering smoke, mint Finish is similar to me as the 16 but the taste is quite different. Rather than a smoked brisket it is a dark, bolder than sweet, desert.

    Talisker 57 North N- slight salt, grassy floral T- natural sweet, meaty F- refreshing smoke, pepper It was a little sweeter and lighter than the 10 yo.

    Glen Scotia Double Cast N- burnt sugar T-vanilla, fruits F- short spice, followed by sweetness Overall was decent but not really my type.

    Springbank 10 yo b. 1990 N- pear, floral T-oily, fruits, flowers/grass, F- sweet citrus and spice, earthy peat We sampled a few others but I kept coming back to this.

    N - Carmel, floral T - spice, wood, slightly grassy F - astringent The nose on this is enjoyable. The taste is like a classic bourbon to me. Quite enjoyable. The finish was a bit of a let down. It didn’t really end with a bang at all. Would seem good in a mixed drink or old fashioned though.

    N - Smokey ashes, brine, slight caramel T - dry, peat, brisket/smoked meat, raisins F - cool ocean breeze with some slight spice Has been a long time favorite. Adding notes this go around.

    N- honey, floral, earthy T- peat, pear, sweet almost like a rum F- smoke, pepper Loses some of the intensity with a bit of water. Becomes much more sweet. Overall very enjoyable.

    N - sea salt / brine T - peat obviously, there is a fruity and sweet note but I can’t tell what it is F - smoke, heat / pepper For the love of peat this thing was tasty. I generally love preaty whiskies and this lives up to the hype.
