⚠️ [NOTE 1: Price reflects one 750-mL bottle purchased and delivered via DoorDash (excluding all taxes, shipping/delivery, fees, gratuity/tips, discount codes, etc.).] ⚠️ [NOTE 2: Tasting notes below reflect approximately 4.5 oz consumed neat at room temperature in a clean Glencairn glass from a recently purchased (and recently opened) bottle, over the course of approximately 45 minutes from start to finish. Two drops of bottled water were added roughly halfway through.] 👁 OPTICS | Deep copper in color. Thin, oily, and slightly cloudy/opaque. 👃 OLFACTION | Unmistakable sherry and overripe/dried fruit (particularly grapes/raisins, plums, bananas, and—hidden away underneath—occasional red apples and pears). Notes of honey-drizzled baked bread, cereal, and vanilla. Mild ethanol fumes. Honey and vanilla become significantly more pronounced upon introduction of two water drops. 👅 PALATE | Incredible tip-of-the-tongue burst of honeyed sweetness, which sadly vanishes quickly...but just as rapidly transitions pleasantly into a refreshingly crisp blend of pear and (mild) banana. Strong baking spiciness and alcohol "heat" persist throughout entire experience, particularly upon swallowing. Ghostly hints of vanilla. Upon adding two water droplets, sherry suddenly dominates the palate (to an obnoxious degree), while spiciness and "heat" subside dramatically. 👄 MOUTHFEEL | Relatively thin, lightweight, and oily. Quite sticky and mouthcoating, though less so after adding water. 🏁 FINISH | Dominated by sherry and baking spices, along with moderate pear crispness/dryness, with significant "tingliness" and "heat" persisting well beyond final sip and swallow (prior to adding water droplets).81.99 USD per BottleABC Fine Wine & Spirits

Glenlivet 12 Year Double Oak
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed February 7, 2026 (edited February 8, 2026)⚠️ [NOTE 1: Price reflects one 750-mL bottle purchased in person (excluding all taxes, shipping/delivery, fees, gratuity/tips, discount codes, etc.).] ⚠️ [NOTE 2: Tasting notes below reflect approximately 4.5 oz consumed neat at room temperature in a Glencairn glass from a newly purchased bottle, over the course of approximately one hour from start to finish. Two drops of bottled water were added roughly halfway through.] 👁 OPTICS | Dull honey in color. Slightly cloudy. Thin, yet somewhat gelatinous and oily. 👃 OLFACTION | Predominantly honey and baking-spice sweetness, masking a subtler layer of green/sour apple and tropical fruit (particularly banana). Virtually zero ethanol scent/burn without unnaturally deep inhalation. Overall mild, muddled, subdued, and simplistic. Minimal change post-water droplets, aside from slight increase in each olfactory element's intensity (most noticeably the Oloroso sherry). 👅 PALATE | Immediate general sweetness, slowly evolving into milder notes of honey, sweet bread, Oloroso sherry, and feint orange peel. Consistent and pleasantly-balanced (albeit generic) spiciness from start to finish. Orchard fruits (mainly red apple, with ethereal traces of pear), cinnamon, and vanilla emerged shortly after introducing water drops. 👄 MOUTHFEEL | Refreshing, moderately crisp, watery, and extremely thin...perhaps to a fault (though slightly thicker after adding water droplets). Mild tingliness/burn, particularly upon swallowing. 🏁 FINISH | Dried straw/hay flavors, with lingering (but short-lived) "spiciness" and persisting hints of Oloroso sherry and vanilla. Long-lasting sandy/salty, "arid", and subtle cinnamon overtones.39.49 USD per BottleABC Fine Wine & Spirits -
⚠️ [NOTE 1: Price reflects one 750-mL bottle ordered via DoorDash (excluding all taxes, shipping/delivery, fees, gratuity/tips, discount codes, etc.).] ⚠️ [NOTE 2: Tasting notes below reflect approximately 2.0 oz consumed neat at room temperature in a Glencairn glass from a newly purchased bottle, over the course of approximately 30 minutes from start to finish. Two drops of bottled water were added roughly halfway through.] 👁 OPTICS | Copper-tinged goldenrod in color. Very clear. Relatively light/thin and watery. 👃 OLFACTION | Dominated by instant scents of Oloroso sherry and red wine, with a general dessert-like sweetness. Moderate ethanol fumes/burn upon deep inhalation and closer inspection. Freshly-cut green apple and pear notes layered beneath. Occasional pleasant hints of honey and toffee. No percepible change post-water droplets. 👅 PALATE | Refreshing and reinvigorating burst of a bouquet of springtime/meadow flowers, in harmony with various green orchard fruits. Heavy salt and generic baking spices, with mild black pepper notes. Oloroso sherry and vinous flavors only reappeared (from their olfactory debut) after adding water drops, becoming increasingly noticeable towards the end. 👄 MOUTHFEEL | Exceptionally light, thin (almost airy), watery, and smooth. Considerable—almost uncomfortable—saltiness, dryness, and spiced warmth, which became notably less intense after introduction of water droplets. 🏁 FINISH | Blatant dryness, saltiness, and overall "spicy warmth" (in a baking spice and ethanol sense), lingering strongly for 10+ minutes and unfortunately masking subtle remnants of fruits and flowers.48.17 USD per BottleABC Fine Wine & Spirits

⚠️ [NOTE 1: Price reflects one 750-mL bottle ordered via DoorDash (excluding all taxes, shipping/delivery, fees, gratuity/tips, discount codes, etc.).] ⚠️ [NOTE 2: Tasting notes below reflect approximately 1.5 oz consumed neat at room temperature in a Glencairn glass from a newly purchased bottle, over the course of approximately 15 minutes from start to finish. Two drops of bottled water were added roughly halfway through.] 👁 OPTICS | Dark copper colored. Thin, with mild—almost gelatinous—viscosity. Extremely transparent. 👃 OLFACTION | Pleasant blend of immediate peatiness and red fruit sweetness, though somewhat simplistic and tame. Minimal ethanol fumes. 👅 PALATE | Unmistakable peaty smokiness, in concert with deeply rich (red) fruity sweetness for an autumnal rusticness. Substantially salty "baking spice" notes, with subtle chemical overtones. Ethereal vanilla hints. Red apple and generic sweetness scents become notably more present after introduction of water droplets. 👄 MOUTHFEEL | Relatively thin and watery, but very smooth. Quite a bit of lingering "spicy" tingliness (though not at all "warm") and briny dryness. 🏁 FINISH | Primarily smoky and salty, lasting for a considerable time after each sip.36.12 USD per BottleABC Fine Wine & Spirits

Generally transparent. 👃 OLFACTION | Overpowered by extremely pungent smell equally reminiscent of ethanol, acetone, and orchard fruit (particularly green apple and pear). Quite off-putting...almost nauseatingly so. 👅 PALATE | Immediate honeyed fruit-like sweetness, followed by generic "baking spiciness" and a pleasantly glowing ethanol warmth. Careful focus reveals the same green (bordering sour) apple and synthetic pear notes present olfactorily. 👄 MOUTHFEEL | Medium weight, bordering thin and watery; warming (nearly hot) and slightly drying. 🏁 FINISH | Surprisingly long, primarily of black pepper, cheap charcoal smoke/ash, and a smidge of honey.24.99 USD per BottleABC Fine Wine & Spirits
