Wow, what a peat. Earthy, herbal notes immediately appear on nose, which develops with spices (cloves, hints of nutmeg). Given time, a maritime character appears, fresher than before. Waiting longer, and seaside mixes with forest. This is Scotland, this is Jura. Otters or deers may appear anytime from my dram. Mouthfeel is consistent with nose, just adding some bitter oak notes - not the most pleasant I've ever tried, tbh, but not so huge: you can easily ignore them and keep on sipping. Give some time more into your mouth to this dram, TPC comes and kills oak. it's up to you. Alcohol is not perceived, anytime. Not a boozy dram at all. Give me some fresh oysters, please. Out of stock? Oh, steamed mussels are fine as well, thanks.Isle of Jura Distillery Co

Orange is easily, pleasantly perceivable, and you can recall some JW through that. This is a great whisky to introduce people in your circle, but more experienced drinkers don't have to be snob and avoid it, a NAS scotch. it's tasty, well prepared, deep and complex enough. Everyday jewel.28.0 EUR per Bottle

Loch Lomond 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands , Scotland
Reviewed March 20, 2019 (edited October 4, 2019)Powerful, and quite alcoholic, it shows a strong character you must deal with, before it dominates you. Meaty nose, with notes of sulphur, and then more pleasant almonds abd honeys. These are deeper on palate, leaving little space for meat to pop up again. Not an easy-to-go-for whisky to me. For sure I'll never serve it to newbies, nor as a dessert dram. But hey, serve it siding a roast beef, or pulled pork, or a great Tagliata. It'd be wonderful! Vote is quite high, for I'd love to have it in my cellar and surprise my mates. -
Deanston 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 11, 2019 (edited November 11, 2019)Light body, golden colour. Its most gives notes of grapes, citrus and pear, then nut oils. Vanilla and oak comes over time. Palate shows elegance, with more nuts, lemon and fresh berries, followed by oak notes. Long aftertaste, made of oils and honeyed oak. sweet but pleasant. -
Great value for money, since very little money is required to bring a bottle home. Spices and rye make this dram a great ingredient for cocktails. You can easily sip it neat once, twice, but not three times: it lacks of deeper notes, but actually we don't expect for them. much better than Jack Daniels to me.9.0 EUR per Bottle

Jack Daniel's Old No. 7
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed February 9, 2019 (edited September 5, 2021)Not the one for me. Just banana and maple charcoal, and burning alcohol. For this price tag, there's much else and much more to sip.
