Kirk and Sweeney 12 Year Rum

Reviewed April 18, 2020 (edited June 30, 2020)On the eye, this is lighter than most 12 year old rums. The nose is predominantly vanilla, with the slightest hint of spice. On the palate, the vanilla is still predominant and the hint is spice intensifies a bit. There is a stronger alcohol burn that feels slightly hotter than 80 proof. All in all, this is a pleasant sipper, but it lacks the a Jamaican “funk”. They really need to improve their cork. It is hard to remove, and I ended up with bits of the paper seal in the bottle.34.99 USD per Bottle -
Jack Daniel's Tennessee Straight Rye

Reviewed March 15, 2020 (edited July 7, 2023)Slight aroma of banana bread overshadowed by the distinct smell of ethanol. Along with the banana bread, there is a bit of rye spiciness on the tongue; but both are overshadowed by young whiskey alcohol burn. You may be able to strip the finish off your old liquor cabinet with this juice. There are better ryes, at cheaper prices. revisited this one o 7/7/23 and am not dure if I just felt differently or if there hss bern s change in this juice. It isn’t quite as bad as I remembered, but still not very good. I did bump my rating a skosch better than I first ratex it. There are still better rye whiskeys at s lower price.24.99 USD per Bottle -

Tried this in a Dark Rum Flight, at Red Frog Pub, on the Carnival Sunshine. Of the eight rums I tried, in two separate flights, this was the worse. It has the typical dark rum sweetness, but taste very medicinal. It might make a good Cuba Libre, but falls far short of being called a sipping rum.39.99 USD per Bottle
