    Tried this in a Dark Rum Flight, at Red Frog Pub, on the Carnival Sunshine. Not a bad pour, but nothing really special about it. I’d drink this one again, but prefer Appleton Reserve 12.

    Had this in a Dark Rum Flight, at Red Frog Pub, on the Carnival Sunshine. This, like Brugal 1888, is not bad. I would definitely drink it again. But I have yet found any rum to surpass my favorite Appleton Reserve 12.

    I purchased a bottle of this several years ago, and was pleasantly surprised when I received it. This is a very good rum, infused with good coffee. This is one I would definitely revisit, but unfortunately La Colombo has “sidelined” their distillery.

    Mix Kentucky Straight Bourbon, blended whiskey, rum and brandy; add the eggs, milk, cream, sugar and spices and you get the taste of Christmas past. What’s not to like.

    Sweet, smooth and almost cola-like. The extended aging in sherry casks comes through in the flavor. There is an initial warmth that intensifies, though not to an unpleasant level, and lingers.

    The initial peat assault on the nose is a bit off putting, but the first sip quickly allays any fears. Though a smoky peat monster, the mouthfeel is pleasant and the taste remarkable. Not for beginners, but this is the best Scotch Whisky I’ve ever tasted.

    Very pleasant representation of blended Irish Whiskey. Was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it is. Compares favorably to both Bushmills and Jameson.
