Day 9 of #30daysofbourbon for the #30daybourbonchallenge Gentleman Jack All I can say is mellow banana pudding. Sweet and some oak on the palate.

Casually sipping on ice. As odd as this sounds, I get pepper and pepperoni on the taste. Strange but true.

Day 8 of #30daysofbourbon #30daybourbonchallenge Jim Beam White Label Working through the bourbon from bottom shelf to high proof. Didn't expect much from Jim Beam. Oddly enough, I prefer the Old Crow I had a few days back to this. Nose is sweet and a little corn. Nothing spectacular but nothing awful either. Palate is sweet and a hint of oak. Mouthfeel is light and watery l. Finish is gone in a flash. I didn't expect much and would give it a 2.5-3. I'm only only willing to give it a 3 because it is a decent bourbon for what it is.

Day 7 of #30daybourbonchallenge for #bourbonheritagemonth Benchmark Old No. 8 Buffalo Trace Mashbill #1 This is the low rye mashbill (believed <10% rye) versus the Ancient Age's Mashbill #2 Nose is sweet with toffee and a bit of ethanol Palate sweet with a little spicy Finish is spice with a mild alcohol burn. This isn't complex but at 10 🦌 per 750 mL it's bourbon. I could drink the daily and would be decent in a mixer.

Day 6 of #30daybourbonchallenge for #bourbonheritagemonth Old Crow Jim Beam Jr. as it's essentially JB that is young. Nose is apple and pear sweet with a little butterscotch. Palate: Oaky, spicy. caramel. Finish: Cinnamon spice. short tonmedium

Strong alcohol punch on the nose. some oak. Picking up orange as I sip. Alcohol burn isn't too bad on the palate. A slight oakynes. A slight spicy taste as well. medium finish with a slight aftertaste. A little brown sugar.

Day 4 of #30daysofbourbon is a #bke (🤣) of Good Old #7. I can't remember ever tasting this one neat. The only pour I remember was on the rocks at the Gratis Eagles club. It was late, I was visiting old friends, and the selection was basic. Given the surroundings, I'd pour it again like that any day. Nose is bananas for days. Almost sickly sweet bananas. So much so I have trouble getting ANYTHING else. Reminds me of the Little Debbie banana creme cakes. Maybe a hint of dill. Palate: OK, that was different. I think I'd go back to on ice. It definitely dulls the 🤢 on this one. 2nd sip brings a little more of the banana flavor. Keep going back and its getting slightly better. I've had worse but not really a fan. Finish: (I'm horrible at this part.) It has a slight lingering aftertaste. Not too pungent but definitely there. I'd give it it a 2.5-3/5

sweet caramel and vanilla nose. Sweet with a small hint of spice. No finish really It's ok bourbon. It's basic bottom shelf that isn't horrible. Wouldn't consider it a daily sipper for me but it's drinkable.

Starting Bourbon Heritage Month off with a pour of a local distillate. This bourbon is 95% local corn. Nose is cinnamon and baking spice. I get oak and some sweetness. Palate is oak, and KY hug with some burnt caramel. The finish is shorter than I'd like and toasted marshmallow.
