Rebel Yell 10 Year Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 8, 2019 (edited January 9, 2021)Cherry pie nose, singular. Starts with more of the same on the palate, adding molasses, and finishing with black licorice and finally pepper in your throat. The licorice lingers on your tongue.60.0 USD per Bottle -
Sam Houston 12 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon (Release No. 2 2019)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 7, 2019 (edited October 2, 2020)Corn and burnt sugar nose. Very sweet and fruity up front, then woody oak and finally pepper in the end. This is made by Barton's, so essentially a 12 year old 1792 at 98 proof. Good but not remarkable enough to justify a $92 price tag, regardless of the 12 year label. Update, note, at last count this is going for $120. -
Maker's Mark Private Select Bourbon

Reviewed November 4, 2019 (edited December 15, 2019)Lukas Liquor, Kansas City, MO 109.9 Proof 4 Seared French Cuvee 2 Makers 46 2 Roasted French Mocha 2 Toasted French Spice Nose is strong, filling the nostrils with smoke and apple fruit with baking spices in the background. Smoky BBQ leads the way on the tongue and lingers. Silky chocolate follows and black pepper finishes. A good amount of heat, not mild at all. -
Four Roses Small Batch Select Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 3, 2019 (edited November 25, 2020)A very different Four Roses. I get no floral notes. The nose is difficult to describe maybe some barbeque sauce, but something else. Much more defined on the palate. I get chocolate followed by pepper fading to peppermint. The chocolate stays until the end which lingers. This takes a few sips to appreciate fully but once you figure it out you want more. Quite good.60.0 USD per Bottle -
