Tastes

Light fruity nose. Doughy. Hits the back of your throat with heat. Not a lot of flavor. Short finish.

Nose is smokey and sweet. I lose the smokiness on the palate. Sweet and fruity with a short finish. Lots of cinnamon.

Sweet fruit pie nose. Palate follows with slight heat in the throat. Very sweet. Classic Old Forester with a little umph.

Sweet maple syrup nose. Sweetness continues all the way through on the palate along with a cherry fruitiness and cinnamon. Very little burn. Reminds me of Old Forester Birthday Bourbon. No need to ice or water this one down. A solid bourbon.

Nose is sweet, leathery and fruity. Sweetness follows on the tongue, delicious serviceberry pie, followed by peppery spice and finally fading to mild woody aftertaste. Old Forester has a distinctive taste. Very nice.

Nose is reminiscent of sweet apple pie with an overload of spice. First sip is a little piney but after your tongue is coated it is intensely sweet and spicy. This bourbon is hotter than I expected. It comes after your palate aggressively, no leisurely sipper.

Smoky, sweet, and cherry nose. The palate is peppery cinnamon and sweet fruitiness is there as well. I did not like my first taste but as I went back, I enjoyed it more with each sip.

Inhale lightly and your nose will be filled with the scent of peanut butter. The first impression on the tongue is doughy peanut butter cookie followed by pepper and finishing with nutmeg and clove. Not a long finish. Seems just a tad green. It makes me wonder what this would be like after a couple more years in the barrel. All in all not a bad whiskey.

Sweet cinnamon pie, slightly woody BBQ nose. Light apple and fall spice flavors on the tongue followed by caramel corn. Brings some mild heat at the end. I miss the 12 year, but very good and a good price under $30.

Big beefy BBQ nose. Spicy palate, rich and oily. Spiciness lingers on your tongue. Candy corn finish. Follow with a sip of water. Superior.
