James E. Pepper 1776 Straight Rye (100 Proof)
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Kentucky), USA
Reviewed February 6, 2019Nose reminds me of turpentine, definitely piney, but not in a bad way. The palate is spicy pepper, anise and cloves. -
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 26, 2019 (edited May 11, 2020)Nose is nonspecifically sweet with a slight spice and fruitiness. Palate is leather and oak and slightly reminiscent of brown sugar and service berries at the end. A definite step up from regular Woodford Reserve.50.0 USD per Bottle -
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 26, 2019Nose is sweet cherry pie and cinnamon. The palate is an alcoholic version of the same, rich and earthy in the mouth and slightly spicy. Nice warm chest at the end. -
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 25, 2019 (edited January 30, 2019)Big beefy BBQ nose. Spicy pallet, rich and oily. Spiciness lingers on your tongue. Slight taste of coffee on the finish. Follow with a sip of water. Superior. Currently, my favorite.
